Haven't read since I last commented on the thread, and still haven't, but in the interests of closure (I always like to hear the end of a story), she has found a nice flat with a landlord who will take her on as tenant if she pays double deposit. We are going to lend / or give if it come to it (though she currently says it is definitely a loan) her that deposit.
