1st things 1st - I don't know much about mobiles at all, so would welcome some unbiased advice.

I've been given an Apple iPhone 5 recently, due to the previous owner getting a new one. I really only wanted it for the sake of having a camera/video with me, however, my kids would like me to have a phone too, so I've agreed.

At the moment it needs a new SIM card.

Two questions;
    Can I buy a SIM card for PAYG ?
Which company would you recommend, bearing in mind I'm not going to be using it alot.
Thanks for any comments.

    Find out what network the previous owner used it on as it could well be locked. Or where they purchased it from.

    They need Nano sized sims.

    All networks offer PAYG, just check their websites for details.

    You should consider the Three 3-2-1 PAYG, it's charged at 3p per minute, 2p per text and 1p per MB, you can top up from £5.

    As said, check the phone is unlocked, if it's locked you might be forced to use the same network as your friend did or get it unlocked first.

    Do you know where your friend got the phone from?
