Hey all. Trying to save myself a couple of hundred quid on a RICS surveyor. Will Target accept any other form of valuation? Could I not just get a few local estate agents to give me a free quote?0

Ok thanks. I’ve got a few quotes ranging from £150 to £350! Made an appointment but not looking forward to dealing with Target based on previous comments.0

Definitely just go with the cheapest, but ensure they specifically do reports for H2B redemption.mrjaffa said:Ok thanks. I’ve got a few quotes ranging from £150 to £350! Made an appointment but not looking forward to dealing with Target based on previous comments.
Don’t worry about the posts in this thread, like anything, there will be thousands of dealings that have had no issues, things only end up on here when problems arise. We’re just coming to the end of our second H2B redemption and never had any issues. Their Twitter and phone support has always been top notch for us.0 -
My advice having been through this recently, once you have your valuation and send everything through to Target, call them. Dont wait for them to action and get in touch or you could be waiting weeks. They will often process stuff on the phone once they have what they need.0

I had a desktop valuation refused during first lockdown and was told by target they didn’t accept them despite their paperwork and government advice at time say they did. Submitted a full valuation nearly 3 months ago and still waiting for response, target are getting no responses from homes England at the moment so no idea when it will be accepted. Would advise getting a full rics valuation but be aware of lengthy delays getting it approved, target told me they had a long list of valuations waiting with homes England to approve.

I wonder if anyone can help, we are remortgaging our help to buy flat out to let out and purchasing a new property and paying off help to buy. We have been told that you have to give 15 days notice to target(help to buy), can we move out of the flat and complete on our new home (need money in flat for deposit for new home) before the 15 working days is up? Or can we not move until the redemption is completed0

I would just like to add a positive note on Target HCA. I applied for my redemption statement on Monday 08/02/2020. I supplied both my RICs valuation and Form B by email. I then contacted Target HCA on Thursday 11/02/2020. I contacted Target HCA for an update today 17/02/2020 they then provided me with my redemption statement via email and confirmed that my solicitor was already in receipt of my redemption statement. I have to say this service has been excellent completely different from what I have read in this thread. I think it helps if you follow up with a call after providing the documents and paying your fee.1
