My month has ended today on the shocking £241.28 from a budget of £195/200.
I know the cost of living has gone up but I was surviving on £168 last year, sometimes barely or with 'creative accounting' but still.
I know I bought some booze this month but that was still less than £25, which is hardly excessive for two people in a whole month.
My money seemed to go a lot, lot further last yearDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Hi everyone. Pay day tomorrow so I'm declaring at £179.47\£140 which looks horrendous but (here come the excuses :rotfl:) I did my first Approved Foods order in ages. It came to £39 with half price delivery but I got loads of stock cupboard stuff like noodles, rice, rice cakes, meal kits, sauces , tinned and dried fruit, tofu, jam etc which will last months. I also avoided the temptation to buy junk (apart from my four Snickers for 10p offer:money:). In addition I had the best YS haul ever. Lots of meat, fish , bread , veggies and fruit , all 10p. The fridge, freezer and cupboards are literally at capacity so I'll hopefully reap the benefits over the coming months.
I must also confess to the 6 bottles of wine for £25 offer at Asda:o
Consequently I'm £39.47 over which isn't great but at least it was considered spend rather than impulsive nonsense as it has been in the past:)
See you over on May

2 shops this last week of £11.56 and £12.83 both at lidles.
they take my months total to £139.24 which i'm really stunned at. I think it's cos I used up lots of ufos, which I seem to have filled the gaps with greek pastries ready for family day in july and veg off cuts which I plan to use to make veg soup for lunch.
actually my ufo supply seems to be running out, ive quite enjoyed not having to cook, apart from lots of cooked apples I found from last autumn, I think id better start making apple crumbles! I don't ever make a pudding, I find my portions at dinner are big enough for nobody to ever have room for it
fingers crossed for being able to defrost the freezer next month.
oh, I also had 20 no shopping days again this month which seems to be my average.0 -
Grocery challenge this month was a disaster for me. I have been ill for the past 3 weeks and OH is slow to get organised to take over from me with food plans etc. The result is we have had a few takeaways and eating on the run etc so major overspend.
I will re-join for May and hope to do better this time!0 -
Way over this month , dont quite know whats gone wrong, need to have a stern talk to myself, roll on May

Going to finalise my April grocery total spend on Saturday after I've done a small top up shop for pet food in a particular store. Kept all of my receipts but not been tracking spends particularly great the last few days as I haven't been well so really hoping that I have come in under budget. I do know that my small treat eating out budget was totally blown this month.
So once Saturday completed......I'm ready to jump into MayDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mr Expert is on holidays this week and took the girls out for the day yesterday. Part of which involved stopping in at the huge market in town which sells ethnic food, gourmet meat and seafood, artisan coffee...you see where I'm going with this, yes? Unless I can do the weekly shop for $11.77, which will buy me a sack of beans and some milk pretty much, I'm out for this month.
I do have fancy coffee beans, though.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
