Sunny's good isn't it - you can even believe we're not in recession when the sun's shining
Poor deluded me:D.
Anyway, I moved by pension out of UK gilts on Sunday and am now back 100% cash. So back sitting on the sidelines pondering what to do next:rotfl:

Wow
That is excellent and you presumably saved at least £342 tax HMRC would have taken otherwise?
PS: Where is the sun? it's cold, with rain and hail here in East Anglia, quite a contrast to the sun, warmer rain and downpours in Atlanta in the week....0 -

It's April showers here in London. Sunny one minute chucking it down the next. Summer's coming back tomorrow according to the BBC weather man...
Hey Stuart - when I researched my family tree I found that my father's ancestors (ie those with my maiden name) where from Norfolk/Suffolk. Sadly, I've never been to Norfolk or Suffolk but I'd like to get there one day. My ancestors came from a village near Diss....do you know it or is it miles away?0 -

I live in the west of East Anglia (if that isn't an oxymoron?) these days but I was born and bred in the south of the Cotswolds near Bath and Bristol. I can recommend visiting both Norfolk and Suffolk, why not add it to a list of potential day trips which you have ready planned for when a nice day turns up?
Another location I can recommend is Stamford in Lincs, easy by train via Peterborough and you may get cheap tickets that way. Beautiful town we lived in for a couple of years but too far from my job to remain there.0 -

LOL I found that I have ancestors who came from the Cotswolds too - the Wychwoods (Shipton under Wychwood, Milton under Wychwood, Ascott under Wychwood) - another place I must visit. I think they orginated from Upper slaughter near Stow. Mr SMF2 was brought up in Bristol.0 -

The Slaughters are a lovely area unspoilt by mass-tourism. You can then pop into Bourton-on-the-water after 1800hrs when the coaches etc have left and have a walk around, the limestone is beautiful in evening sunlight, followed by a great meal... makes the area I live in now seem lacking....
If your OH hasn't taught you the "krek waiter speak Bristle" then try http://www.thatbebristle.co.uk/ and the dictionary link listed there "my luvver" :rotfl::rotfl:
Then you can surprise everyone with phrases like "thees gotum where thee casn't backen hasn't?" lol0 -
Ooooo those books look great.- my hubby would love them! A good gift
One day (when the kids have left home;)) I'd like to rent a cottage in that neck of the woods and go and visit each village my ancestors come from and have a drink in every village pub:p and toast them all....0 -
I've put the Bristle books on my Amazon wish list. Think I'll get them for him for Easter - he'll love them.
and we're seeing his family at Easter so it'll give them all a laugh....:D
