We'd ALL like to have PO's mortgage!!! :rotfl:

You're doing fantastically still SMF2 - I'm especially impressed with your energy use cutbacks. I must make more effort to track ours - I did start reading the electric meter weekly but seem to have rather lost my way with this over the past few weeks.

OK, I'll make things better; why don't the three of you split my mortgage and pay it off for me? Then you'll all feel good about it and not get confused about moving your own mortgages around:rotfl:

Ahhh, you need to read the *extremely* small print Poppy!!! (It's soooo small it's not even visible you see, just like your average credit card agreement!)

    Hi:hello:,

We got real lucky this month and made whopping overpayment of...............£13,000:j:jSo the SMFs only *cough* owe £131,628 and will go sub £130k in September hopefully.

    Income

Mr SMF2 had some share options which paid out a whopping $27 per share (no idea why they are riding so high)

    Expenses
    1. CAR - had to pay out £250 to have a seal repaired. - BOO. The car also needs a new set of tyres soon. On a positive note the new solar panel we bought seems to have sorted out the problem we were having with the battery.
    2. FOOD - Strarting a new challenge this month to try to reduce our food spend. Currently spending £10.73 a day. I also want to reduce the amount spent on alcohol *cough*....moving swiftly on...
    3. CLOTHES - Didn't spend anything on clothes for myself this month and I still have £60 left on my Next Xmas voucher. Bought some clothes for the kids including some new school uniform. My youngest needs yet more uniform so this will be an expense in September.
    4. BOOKS - I was good, bought none this month.
    5. HOUSE & GARDEN- Cleared out the shed this month and found some miracle gro, slug pellets & shrub food. So made these a part of my "Use it up Challenge". So now have beautiful looking plants in my hanging baskets, pots and window boxes:D. Probably have enough plant food to see me through to the end of next summer. The 5 plants I moved in spring have all survived so am chuffed about that.
    6. ENERGY- For this time of year we are down 27% on electricity:j but have used the same amount of gas - so no reduction there. We only use gas to heat water at this time of year so the scope for a reduction is small. The real challenge will be not to turn the Central Heating on in September. Also hoping that once kids are back at school my electricity will go down.:j After I came back from holiday I never bothered to turn my freezer back on and so far I haven't missed it (I tend to shop everyday). It's an old freezer so this has helped our energy reduction.

    7. The-Use-it-up-Challenge - Well the nights are closing in again so it's back to trying to use up those gift candles and smellies.:D

Well I think that is about it for this month. Can't wait to go sub £130k - that'll be a real achievement.:D
