8 month GPRS bar, o2 unable to remove

Hello, new here, joined for some advice, o2 left GPRS on two phones since June 2016, after contacting o2 by calls, text chats, visits to my o2 local shop, swapping sims numerous times, after visiting an Apple Store to have a service check on my phones (Apple said issue with carrier phones ok), have finally found out o2 had left the bar on (a separate o2 data base?), now the two phones work, its now 8th March 2017. I'm quite a paitent person and have always shown all the staff at o2 respect when communicating with them, they offered me £50 compensation. I'm disappointed and would like to know if this figure is fair?
Please let me know your thoughts, thank you, Anthony.

Depends on what you think is fair and what £50 is in relation to the cost of the contract you have. Not sure what you mean by 'left GPRS on' though. GPRS is a type of data/internet mobile service AFAIK?

I doubt it was a GPRS bar (it's not the 90s) but a data bar.
Does your package include any data?

  • Yes, data inc in contract, both numbers due for upgrade so not paying off phones, could phone and text, but no 2/3/4G or picture message, very frustrating when finally they took the bar off they both have mobile internet. Getting older so I remember when the 90's was the future! Thanks for the replys.

Data access has to be enabled by the network, I suspect the OP has been suffering from the network not enabling data access during this period hence his issues. I'd expect an efficient member of staff to have double checked this immediately but have never worked for o2 so cannot comment in detail, their stores may not even have access to these settings.
