Payplan experiences/advice

  • Hi SortingIt,

Just a word of encouragement, we went to Payplan in November 2004 and set up our DMP with them, it waas the best thing we ever did. Neither of us are working at the moment due to ill health and Payplan have been brilliant and told the creditors we needed to reduce our repayments. We haven't had any problems with them at all. We are really glad we went to Payplan. They didn't tell us off for getting into debt, in fact they were surprisingly supportive and helpful. Good luck for later, we will be thinking of you.

  • Good Luck Sortingit!!!!! :)
  • Well I have had my first inital phone call and it wasn't so bad. The guy was really reassuring and explained everything to me, took all my details re income and outgoings etc. In fact he was a really nice guy and put me at ease.

I now have to wait until next week when the 'specialist' will call me after going through everything and he said that that would be after 7pm any evening next week. He was unable to give me a definate day but said mid-end so I guess I will just wait for that. I assume that is where they look at all the information I have given to them and decide what course of action to take???

I don't think I will be as nervous for that call as it will be the solution as such. The guy actually said that the call with himself is the worse part because it the part where I have to go through ALL my debts and that is scary. I didn't realise quite how sick it would make me feel saying it all out loud to someone I didn't know, awful.

I guess the next bit will be what they decide re monthly payment or any queries they have with my budget? At least I can rest easy tonight knowing that I have taken my first step and have a weekend not dealing with paperwork as I am in waiting now.

The only good thing is that through borrowing from family etc all my payments are up to date so not due any missed payment letters or phonecalls until end of Oct by which time I know what I will be doing re Payplan. Then the fun starts hey! Or I may be lucky and everyone will agree to it - fingers crossed.

Sorry to waffle on I am home alone and haven't been able to talk to anyone!

Take care and again thanks for ALL your help and support. No doubt I will be posting again after next weeks phone call on the DMP support site - and hopefully an official member!! xx
  • Well done. The second call is OK. Nothing to worry about at all

Relax and enjoy the rest of the evening

    Hi,

Just giving your post a bump, so someone may know the answer for to your question.

We have been on a DMP plan with Payplan for nearly a year, but we don't have a mortgage.

    Good luck

    Hi

If you post on this board, you should receive the correct answer.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
