Yes you must include the above in your budget and make sure you put the money away into savings too. Mine covered my Westfield contributions and about £5 more a month, Christmas I put away about £20 a month but I do surveys too. Yesterday there was a good post http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/dmbmanual/DMBM800120.htm which is the industry standard of what costs to allow - see if that helps!

Obviously the figures that are blank are unique to me so you need to put in figures that are relevant to you in the sections showing £00. The figures that are left are what Payplan allow for them

    Hope this helps

Sorry did not preview post and it seems all long and difficult to read. Hope you can make it out though. Just copied from my page and was showing as a list when i was typing the post.

PPS think i may have sorted it
  • Hi

The figures are for a family of 4 and may differ if you have less/more children partner etc.

Just to give you an idea really

  • Thanks very much guys, I am on a lunch break now so going to start putting my budget togerther allowing for all expenses rather than leaving myself short.
I must say feeling 99% better about the call this evening, obviously still a bit anxious but then who wouldn't be I suppose. I guess it will all become clear enough soon.
Just another quick question, at present all payments are up to date due to help of others but from next month I will not be able to pay all my creditors. I will obviously mention this tonight on telephone but what is normal practice? I can pay some of them but not all or should I split what monies I have between the creditors? So many things to think of.

Thankfully I have a very supportive partner in all this (although not financially linked thankfully!) and he is off to get me lots of stationary, box files etc for each creditor so I can get myself organised and on top of it all from tonight onwards. I am sure it will be worth it all in the end!

    Thanks again, xx
  • Hi

What i did for the month when i was setting up my DMP was send each creditor a token payment (£5 in my case) with a covering letter explaining i was setting up a DMP with Payplan and quoting my ref number.

Hope that helps as i have to dash to get DD 2 from school and then off to work

    Good luck

  • Thanks yellowmonkey!

I am a bit worried that the creditors will see my travel as expensive. I pay out £360 per month on a travelcard. I have to commute to London everyday as the work I do pays approx 10,000 less per year in local areas. I have however sold my car to pay a bit of my debt off and therefore it is my only travel cost. Hopefully I will be ok.

 That's got to be a necessary expense I reckon hon.

After all, how are you going to pay anything off if you can't get to work????

And it's cheaper than running a half decent car over that distance.

I'm sure it will be fine sweetie.

I'm glad you're feeling less worried about it, and I'm really glad you've got a supportive partner around to back you up.

A bit of support makes it all so much less scary. (That's why we're all on here. :D )

Let us know how you get on.

    Love Jacks xxx :D

  • Ok I am at work and getting nervous now. Why I do not know as I know it is the right thing to do! Feel like a child that has just done something naughty and is about to get told off!!

I spent my lunchtime printing off as much info as possible to read on my lovely 2hr plus commute home from London. They can't say I don't make the effort to work now can they. Up at 5am and home no earlier than 6pm now thats dedication to earning a wage I think!

Right back to my paperwork - I know in my head that it will all be ok and tonight will be fine but my nerves seem to be getting the better of me. Boy do I sound silly.
  • awww bless ya sortingit!

don't worry at all, you'll feel a million times better after speaking to someone about it and they are really helpful! they're on your side remember :)
  • Thanks again today for all your help on this site.

Just over and hour and I will be on my way to sorting this mess out. Must say I am still scared but I have got home from work, made a cuppa and change into something a little more comfortable (track-suit bottoms!!) and now just got to wait for the call.

Part of me is excited, part of me is nervous and scared a little about what will happen from now. However as I have said before, I know this is the right thing for me to be doing. I will try and post after I have finished and taken everything in - wish me luck!

    xx
