Apologies for resurrecting this thread but wanted to ask and cannot find the answer anywhere else.
I have 2 children, 2 and 4 years old, both receiving TFC, with the 4 year old in Reception. I have maxed out my TFC top up for this quarter for the 2 year old, and the 4 year old only gets minimal top ups as he is picked up by the 2 year old's childminder a couple of times a week. Can I ask the childminder to accept payment for both the 2 year old AND the 4 year old just through the 4 year olds' TFC account? As I will be able to get a bit more out of 4YO account through top ups?
Not sure I've explained that right but can clarify if unclear!0 -
Using multiple childcare accounts If you have more than one eligible child, you’ll receive a separate childcare account for each of your children. You must pay childcare costs for each child out of the correct account. You can’t transfer top-up payments between accounts.

Hi everyone, my daughter is 16 months old and signed up with the tax free government account. Does anyone know when the 'entitlement periods' formally start and end formally? Or is it individual, based on when you sign up to the account?
Thanks all0 -
My granddaughter has just started Reception, she has been eligible for tax free childcare in nursery, will this apply to her breakfast and afterschool club costs?0

What you can use Tax-Free Childcare for
You can use it to pay for approved childcare, for example:
- childminders, nurseries and nannies
- after school clubs and play schemes
Your childcare provider must be signed up to the scheme before you can pay them and benefit from Tax-Free Childcare.
Check with your provider to see if they’re signed up.
