Sky box switching off by itself at night and waking up to red light!

Feel like i'm getting a slapped hand here for not "power saving"! Firstly, I didn't realise why the red light was coming on which is why I asked the question, and secondly, I did not realise it would still record in standby mode. Now I know why it is doing it, and it is not an electrical fault or something spooky, I will continue to keep it on the setting it is on to "power save" before certain money savers jump to conclusions (chrislass) about how I run my household (which is very power/money saving - single parent of two little uns!).
