By definition, everybody on here has a reasonable understanding of how eBay works, so it's easy to forget that there are many people out there who don't really have a clue.

I accepted the offer yesterday but got no payment. This morning I sent a reminder payment invoice, as there was still no payment.
The buyer is in the UK.
I got a reply to my intial query about the 1p overpayment. Blames "trouble with laptop". I replied it is only a 1p discrepancy, so go ahead and pay. I think there are glitches with ebay.mob app from tiime to time. But my buyer was on her laptop....0 -
Appears to me a way to get out of the immediate payment. Possibilities are they are bidding on another of the same, you are nothing but a back up. You will probably get a change of mind cancellation request if they win the other one. They could also be a rival selling same item and have now removed your item from Ebay.0

Buyer finally got in touch....She doesn't want to buy it. "Having money problems".
***! What is she even doing on ebay if that is the case, let alone making purchase offers! I don't quite believe her, having google mapped her address.
If she's a rival seller of this item, it will be with a different ebay account....0 -

I told you in post #18 you would not get paid by this buyer, and to ignore and block. There are a lot of experienced users here - but the advice is only useful if listened to.0 -
bx,
I've just re-read the thread. Yes, you did, thanks. Optimism at selling a winter item in the summer got the better of me!
My 'buyer' lives in a 5-bed det. house in the home counties.
First she blamed her laptop, then her wallet. Complete timewaster!0
