49p Pay as you go phone
I just had a little roam on quidco and E2 save are offering £7.50 on buying a pay as you go phone. The cheapest they do is the motorola F3 which is £7.99 so its only 49p for the phone, however you do have to buy £10 top up. there are nokias for £8 plus the £10 top up.
If you do this in the next 24-48 hours you can use this 10 pounds (thats if you dont need it) to text itunes for your free tunes...
This is also a great way to get a trade in phone if your buying a new contract as all the high street retailers are offering £100 pound trade in.
hope this is posted in the right place.

It is misleading to give a price as 49p, the phone may eventually cost this price if quidco validates(no guarantee) months down the line.
You don't receive the credit until 8 days after the phone is delivered, so the itunes tip will not work. On top of this the itunes are not "Free" they cost 10p each.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
ok my bad on the itunes side slight typo...i was thinking that as u have paid the 10 pounds credit and u dont need the sim card its a good way to use that money up.But they have closed the loop hole now.
There has been lots of posts on MSE that includes the price of the quidco. including Martin himself advertising RAC for under 10 when purchased with quidco...
on that note i found this from the quidco site itself:
"e2save are offering Quidco members an exclusive £7.50 cashback (was £3) on all PAYG mobile phones. We have just checked their website and they are offering the Motorola F3 blue, from only £7.99, that makes the phone only 49p after cashback! You do have to buy a £10 airtime voucher but this still is one of the UK’s cheapest"
so i doubt it if they do not validate this...
either way, just trying to be helpful but obviously shot down by user. But for those out there needs a cheap pay as you go ignore our friend.0 -
I bought this phone last week and it validated straight away.
It's a truly horrible phone though.0 -
I'm a bit confused by this as when I looked on Quidco it said the £7.50 was for a virgin sim only (not phone). I clicked through and the virgin sim thing seems to give you £15 of calls for 6 months for free?? Is this correct? I'm a mobile phone novice - so it would be good if someone could check it out.
Seems a bit too good to be true 6 x £15 of calls + £7.50 quidco??
I don't actually have a mobile to put it in though!!0 -
Hi Zenmaster,
I'm quite attached to my F3!! It has the basic-but-functional appeal of say a VW Beetle (the original) or Citroen 2CV....nothing flash but does the job and with a certain quirky style of its own. For someone who just wants a basic phone to make and receive calls, voicemail and texts (or a back up phone) it has many good points: extremely good battery life, big, easy to read display, easy to use, very slimline to fit in any pocket, robust and hardwearing.
In fac the only problem I've found is that it doesn't have any memory for saving texts you write so I had to rewrite my new no and message each time I wanted to send it to someone which was a pain and a defiinite design flaw. Apart from that it does what is says it will with some aplomb and without fuss. I have a "better" phone which has become my back up because the F3 is so easy to use and so reliable....and it's not the end of the world if I lose it!
I know it's a matter of horses for courses, and personal taste, but for anyone who doesn't want all the bells and whistles they could do much worse and pay much more fora trusty and solid reliable phone!Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -

The Sim only deal you mention sounds like the cashback deal.
There are lots of problems with it, see the thread about it hereWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

someone said it arrives after the phone is delivered...
It's topped up when the sim is activated. I've not actually used it as it was a replacement for a broken phone which already had a sim with credit on it. I want to try and get Virgin to transfer the credit to the other sim.Mesopotania wrote: »I'm a bit confused by this as when I looked on Quidco it said the £7.50 was for a virgin sim only (not phone). It certainly looks that way, but it's a cashback deal with all the inherent problems.
I'm sure that the deal on Quidco was for PAYG. It seems to have changed.Hi Zenmaster,

My wife adores it for the very reasons you state. She showed it round at a family get together this weekend and when they finally stopped laughing about the fact she now not only owns a mobile but actually carries it with her (she is a technophobe) two of the group said it was exactly what they wanted for day to day use and asked me to send them the link.0 -
Can anyone explain this further, how much is the phone, how much is the cost per min/ per text?0

superstar, Go to the Virgin website, it has their PAYG tariff on there.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
