Managed to do two mystery shops today which will total to £10 when it gets approved.

Managed to get some more school uniform today for cheap as I had two coupons to use in toscos so managed to use them both and got them for 1/2 price ready for sept. Just a few more bits to get for DD.Balance at start of mortgage Dec 2011 £87500

Have yet to get to the stage of having a mortgage - I'm still trudging through uni - but it's a motivation to read through and see how much you're able to put towards overpayment and how much you can save, just by putting your mind to it! Will keep an eye on the thread for any hints and tipsDeterminedSingleMummy wrote: »My week is getting worse... the camera lens on my phone has smashed. I'm hoping it's just the glass over the lens as i use my camera a lot to take pics of DD...
Few more sales on ebae which has been good.
Hope you are backing up your phone, as have had a few friends and relatives who have lost all of their photos recently! It's heart-wrenching when you realise they're all gone.Long-Term Goal: £23'000 / £40'000 mortgage downpayment (2020)0 -
Well done DSM sounds like total commitment to clear the mortgage. Keep up with this interesting diary xx0
-
Thanks both
having this diary is really keeping me on track and focusing on little things every week and in really surprised at the end of the month how it's added up!! At the beginning of the month I think to myself I'll only probably get £50 extra but I've managed between £150 And £200 the last few months so I am shocked at how I've managed to do it without feeling like I'm missing out on anything
Something that I have found really easy is if I get something for free i will automatically àdd the cost of that to my mortgage overpayment figure. E.g. if I've had free lunch in work I will add £3 to my mortgage overpayment. I track this using a spending app so I can see exactly how much it is. The figure is labeled in my posts above as 5. Savings from weekly budget. Hope that makes sense.Balance at start of mortgage Dec 2011 £87500

Last day of nursery school for DD... altho she will still be going to nursery (private) so I can go to work until end of August. So hopefully in Sept I will have a bit more spare cash for overpayments. Still waiting to hear from my manager about changing jobs. They booked a meeting to see me but sods law the time they arranged it I am in legoland... so waiting to see if they can reschedule.
Been given a car park ticket for the Bristol balloon fiesta too in August so will be taking DD to that. It's a free event but the parking costs money. I've always wanted to go and it's even better that it's free now. Just petrol to get to Bristol to pay. I have a pot of £200 which I will be using for our mini holiday to legoland and around the South England. Managed to stay with friends for the whole week apart from one night in the Travelodge. So far I've paid £30 for Travelodge and £6 parking for legoland. Already bought some cheap lego gifts for DD so we don't get tempted at the expensive prices at the park. The tickets to get Into the park I used my Clubcard vouchers so basically that has cost me nothing. Anything I that is left from the £200 pot will go towards overpayment so will be looking for ways to make it as cheap as possible
£5 mystery shop has been paidand today was a no spend day.
My Santander 123 lite account is paying 5% cashback on android pay so I will be using this instead of my stoozing creditcard so hopefully when they cash out I'll have a nice little figure for spending what i would normally spend.
Working tomorrow so hopefully it'll be a no spend day tooBalance at start of mortgage Dec 2011 £87500

Am staying at home today as the weather is awful so automatically makes it a no spend day. Bought lots of yellow stickered items yday think it came to around £2 and would normally have cost £10 easily. Now just to keep DD occupied for the rest of the dayBalance at start of mortgage Dec 2011 £87500

Put £6 in coins in the bank today so that will be added to the overpayment pot. I felt a bit silly going in with pound coins and asking to put them in the bank as I've never done that before but hey I'll never see that cashier again so who cares lol
Also had a refund of 99p today which will also be added onto the total
Messaged the buyer on ebae and she's now told me she doesn't want the item anymore:mad::mad: why did u bid on it then :mad::mad::mad: now to relist the item and hope it sells again.
I have free tickets to the circus which were given to me so planning on taking DD on Thursday eveningI'm not a big fan of the circus but she enjoyed it last time we went so at least it keeps her happy. Will be keeping treats and sweets in my bag so we don't buy the expensive junk that they sell :rotfl: and the car park is free so winner winner

Did a mystery shop today which is normally out of the way for me so I didn't previously take it. The amount doubled to £10 and it was on the way to the beach which I had planned to take DD to today so that was a nice coincidence. Apart from spending £1 in the shop for the mystery shop I didn't spend a penny
but earnt £10 towards my overpayment and it's already been approved and waiting to be cashed out

Went to work today and bumped into an old friend and we went for lunch and he paid so that was nice. DD went to an event with my mum and won a family ticket at the cinema however it's for a specific date and we are going to legoland that day so I've given the ticket away to a friend.
Two more items sold on eBay which will make the July total yay!! So will add those numbers on to moro evening and finalise the numbers! I have three items ending tonite with one bid on one item. Am going away for a week next week so I will not be listing anything until I come back now. But hopefully when I come back it'll push me to list more items to get me going again. August might be a slow month for me to find extra money as I'm off work for two weeks and we are having a week away so will be harder to save money but I have money we have saved up to spend so as long as I don't spend more than that amount I should be ok.
Finally have an answer for the job I wanted. Have another meeting on 1st Sept to discuss. Still a bit unsure if it's the right thing to do or not but will keep my options open for now and can always say no to it.
Hoping the sun stays this week as we are planning to go to a few events at the beach. XBalance at start of mortgage Dec 2011 £87500
