Yorkshire Bank 40 Day ISA transfer will take 15 days

  • I've just spent an almost identical 30 minutes on the phone to Yorkshire Bank only to reach a lady who told me the delay in transferring my ISA was definitely down to Virgin Money who "must have requested a standard transfer instead of an immediate transfer, which we would have interpreted as 40 days". I couldn't dispute this as I don't know what Virgin Money did with my transfer request until I can speak to them in the morning.

I did however ask whether she could see the Virgin transfer request on her screen since she seemed to be so confident about it. No, was the answer but "this has been happening a lot recently".

I'm very suspicious, having read this thread, that this is just a tactic to delay transfer. If it proves to be the case there will be a complaint heading their way.
