Hiya
Do banks credit check you to open a savings account? I'm looking at opening one with Tesco, however I have been turned down for a current account previously (with another bank) due to my credit history.
Thanks in advance

It won't be a credit-check as such; it'll be an ID verification so will probably show up as anti-money laundering check on your files (it will be classed as a soft search so lenders won't see it).I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0
