OMG! Your kidding me!!
How can you tell this is not a real Solicitors letter? No I verbally agreed over the phone to make a payment didn't sign anything . She emailed me confirmation in regards to the agreement I have set up (£50 over 3 months).
I didn't really say I was the driver- I just said I have received various letters?
My impatience has cost me - Guess its too late now?0 -

You have agreed this with a scammer and coupon-mad is right, we know because we have been around this scammers industry for a long time.
Suggest you contact your bank/credit card to cancel this ASAP like TODAY0 -
I didnt give bank details I said I will call them to make the payment?
It was just a verbal agreement and the woman has emailed me confirmation of the plan.
So if I do not call them in 2 weeks- can I avoid paying them?
Can they increase the cost of the £150 higher?
Will they get a real solicitor involved?
Thank you so far.0 -

so, have you paid the first £50 ??0 -
You like to gamble, ignore them and see what happens.
Even if they take you to court and win, (unlikely), it would cost them more than it would cost you. If YOU won, they would be well out of pocket. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Because the client/payee is a debt collector who are not the parking firm. So the debt collector sent that, and you spoke to a debt collector firm. How can you tell this is not a real Solicitors letter?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No I have not paid them yet. I said I will on the 20th but having read these comments don't want to pay them.
So if I don't pay them am I right to believe
1) This agreement I have set up is not legally binding and I can avoid making payments to them?
2) Should I ring them to tell them I am not going to be following our agreement or shall I just not do anything and act like I haven't called them?
3)The fact I have stupidly (I admit) called them- does this mean if we went court they are likely to win? If they did win would I have to pay to pay more or will it just be the £150?
Again thanks guys- wish I had found this place sooner!!0 -

There is no agreement which is binding on you, you were duped into believing they were solicitors.
In reality you should be reporting this scam to Trading Standards
All this rabble DRP can do is refer back to the parking company
DRP play at being inbetweeners and "rent a letterhead" using the Gladstones logo which is fakery
Take DRP out of the equation, they are timewasters.
Don't even bother talking to DRP again and if they phone you or write silly letters just tell them ... YOU DO NOT DEAL WITH SCAMMERS
Only the parking company can take this further and even they might try it on by getting the real gladstones involved.
You would get a threat ... LETTER BEFORE ACTION
Now, Gladstones operate their own scam and to be honest they are known by the courts and mostly they lose because they are highly incompetent.
Just ignore DRP now as they are powerless
If you get further letters with the gladstones logo come back here
for more advice and help.
If this was me, I would be having a serious chat with Trading Standards as DRP are pretending to be someone they are are not and attempting to extort money from you0 -
Did you pay them or give them your card details? If not, I fail to see how they can take payment or hold you to a verbal discussion at a distance. This agreement I have set up is not legally binding and I can avoid making payments to them?
In fact in any 'distance contract' you have 14 days to cancel, did they tell you that? So, email (DO NOT PHONE) and say you have decided to cancel the payment plan discussed and know that under consumer law you can do so within the first 14 days, despite the fact they failed to tell you this, which in fact on its own renders any distance contract void.
Tell them they misled you with solicitor letter heading and not to contact you again. State clearly at the end that if they decide to contact you for whatever reason despite you asking them to cease and desist, they MUST NOT use your phone number or email, only letter post.
Send that communication by email or letter (even though you only want replies - if any - by letter). Keep proof of sending but not recorded delivery.
This will not make it stop, the PPC might still pursue you and you may get letters & calls.
If they call or text, remind them straight away with no other discussion - NO QUESTIONS about why you cancelled, do NOT be drawn into talking about it - they are in breach of your clear instructions only to contact via letter post and as such, they and their parking firm client are now on the verge of an harassment claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
I have noted everything you have said. I will not be replying or calling them again. Even on the 20th I will ignore any further emails or phone calls (I stupidly gave them my number).
If they do send another letter I will post it here and before I make any rash decisions.
Regarding trading standards, when I am back home next week-I will look into how I can report them to Trading standards.
Thanks again.0
