Are "collective deals" trustworthy?

Hello! I am late with switching from my fixed contract ending this month because I've been ill.
Before that, my latest checks with CEC had given as winners some little known companies, many of them with bad CS and one of them "currently being probed by Ofgem" (!!!)
At the time another comparison site had similar results.
Now I am contacted by "energyhelpline" offering me "collective deals" and the winner is a well know provider.... however, they do not even show up in the CEC list... and I am down to the 50º place!!
So, are these figures to be trusted? They match the third little known provider in CEC and are only 50 pounds a year more than the second: Iresa, which has mixed reviews and seems to be a slow coach for switching, which would expose me to a longer period of standard tariffs from my current provider.....
Many thanks for any feedback!

  • I am not sure is this helps you, I recently changed to Iresa. They took my payment for gas and electricity a month in front. However a DO NOT REPLY email from them says that the gas has been transferred and no mention of the electricity. I am now so frustrated that they seem to be un-contactable. I have tried to contact by phone, email and even face book. (over a 3 week period} I am now at the stage where I think I should go to OFGEM to find out I can remedy this situation.

'Collective deals' are only offered to those who go through the organisation that have negotiated the deal - in this case 'energyhelpline'.

So CEC will not list that tariff.

The last two 'collective tariffs' - with British Gas - offered by CEC were similarly not listed by other comparison websites.
