In 2017, credit card and loan PPI is no longer retailed at all.

You can actually still get ASU or PHI policies outside of mortgages i.e. to cover debts, the main comparison sites even have sections for them but it's bundled under the title "income protection". Your lender cannot insist on the policy, nor can they use such a policy (or lack of) as part of their commercial judgement on lending but it does still exist

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Capital ONe have a very small uphold rate as they keep good records and can demonstrate when and where a PPI policy was sold.

All you have to do is phone them and complain. Don't get your hopes up though.

That's not PPI and all of the major lenders and credit card providers publicise the fact that they no longer offer it in any other guise.
"Income Protection" may well still be available, but there are now very careful audit trails which make a successful mis-selling complaint almost impossible.

As to the OP, he doesn't need paperwork to complain about an open account where he is still apparently paying PPI.

You can indeed, but not from any of the major lenders and credit card providers.

Customers buy it separately these days, on the rare occasions(understandably) it is sold. Audit trails are robust and mis-selling complaints would be virtually impossible.
