You'll need to be paying premiums if you're looking to make a claim, so the account would need to be open.

For a complaint, it doesn't matter.

Of course you can. What's the nature of your claim?
Are you too ill to work,or have you been made redundant, or something else?

If you complain about it though, they will cancel your policy, so mae sure you don't need it.

  • It's Capital one credit card, I took it in 20013/2014 but I didn't know about PPI so there for I didn't ask for it or need it
As I understand I need to write to CO and ask for all the paper work so I can make a claim
    Thanks

    What paperwork do you need?

And if you don't need it, you don't make a claim. You make a complaint.

Are you certain you bought PPI in 2013? I'd say that was very unlikely such a short time ago. By 2013, loan and credit card providers had largely ceased to offer it at all.

In the first instance, I'd just call Capital One and ask them to confirm PPI is on the account.

You won't require any paperwork to confirm this.

And if they did sell PPI you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a nailed on cast iron bullet proof audit trail

Check your statements, if there isn't a separate line for Payment Protection Insurance or similar wording, you're not paying it.

I didn't think it was retailed with credit cards any more. Certainly none I've had in the last few years have had it.
