School Group delayed by 3.5 hours how do I claim?

Options
Hi

My son flew on a trip from Gatwick to Berlin in September and the flight was delayed for 3.5 hours meaning that they pretty much missed a quarter of the 2 day trip.

The school booked through a travel company as a group and the company are now refusing to respond tp the school regarding a claim being put in for compensation. My question is this: can I claim on my son's behalf? The ticket was obviously in his name but was booked through an agency via the school? Or does the school need to make the claim (they aren't being particularly proactive about chasing it up).

The trip cost £450 for 2 days( ) so I could really do with getting money back for the lost quarter of it!!!

Thanks in advance

First they came for the crack users; but I said nothing. I was not a crack user. Then they came for the heroin users. But I said nothing - I was not a heroin user. Then they came for me. There was no one left to speak for me. (after Pastor Niemoller)

You claim from the 'operating air carrier'.

Do you still have your son's boarding card with his name on it?

    Does this

"3. This Regulation shall not apply to passengers travelling ...at a reduced fare not available directly or indirectly to the public."

    apply in your son's case?

    Hi

Thank you for your reply. No I don't. Do I need it? I'm not sure any of the children do. As he was with the school I have had very little to do with it, I just feel incensed that they will get away with not paying out so will take it up on behalf of the school or my son as appropriate.

Do you have any paperwork or e mail that confirms from the 'operating air carrier' that he was a passenger?

Do you have any details of the air fare paid?

I hope your son's mathematics is a little more accurate than this!

They had activities planned for 7 hours on the first day and 7 hours on the second. I think that makes my maths just fine thank you.

    Why did you bother posting?

Exactly this. Did the school get the flights at a special "schools" rate that the general public would not have access to?

Yes, they do need to look at this.
