I got a great deal, I pay half as much and I don't have to battle with BT. I moved to Virgin....

So it would appear you are paying £42.99 for line rental and Infinity 1, which seems pricey. Do you have any call plans (e.g. unlimited anytime calls) or calling features enabled? as these may be adding to your monthly cost. You should be able too see the breakdown on your bill.

If you switch provider, and wish to retain a similar call plan or feature, you need to factor in if these are included in the price a new provider provides.

I have unlimited anytime calls as my wife has a business and also free caller id.

I would like the chance to actually talk to someone at BT about my contract renewal!
I got an email saying my contract will end at the beginning of May. I called as I didn't want BT Sport any more. The two people I spoke to couldn't deal as there was a 'system problem' but took all the details and said I'd get a call back within 3 days. I then spoke to another person about my broadband as I wanted to know what the price would be when my contract expired - no problem.... except there is a problem with their system and they can't tell me what deals are available for me. I was told to call back nearer the time!

I finally raised a complaint online as I can't see why I have to call back nearer the time. I got an acknowledgement that I should receive a response within 7 days.

I really shouldn't be surprised as I always have some kind of problem when I contact BT and usually have to go via the Chairmans Office to get any sensible response. I'd really like to know what deals are being offered for renewal, but I think a move to Virgin is looking like a real possibility.

similar here, called BT twice and offered Inf2 + line rental £45pm - save me £6 a month but tie me down on 24 months contract.

Browsed the PN website, initiated live chat but no response at all. Perhaps better CS with EE or Vodafone, has anyone have experience with them?

Like many people facing the price rise I got nowhere at first. The offers were worse than if I stayed as I was.

Once I had actually signed up with EE and received a letter from bt saying I was leaving and would not have my line rental refunded I called up to double check this was a mistake.

Then suddenly they had lots of offers and suggested £7 for infinity 1 broadband for 24 months plus £8.50 anytime calls and 5 free simcards with 100 minutes each and 250mb of data for 12 months for free!

I think the sim cards may be because I commented how happy I was that EE gave free mobile phone calls in their call package and this was the only way they could think of to give them to me.

If they had offered me this ten days ago when I said I was leaving I would probably have taken it. But now that I have gone through all the hassle of switching I think I won't.

As for EE, Orange used to have the devil in them. But I hope they have improved now. At any rate my neighbour is happy with their broadband and when struck by lightning three times last year they still sent out replacement routers for free without blinking.
