The purpose of the law shouldn't be to protect people from their own stupidity, which is what is being attempted here.0 -
The fact they set a completion date and never sent the contract out when they thought they did is the kicker here.
Say you're not paying the fee due to them forgetting to send the contract out, say to them either wave the fee for your mistake, or move the completion date.
I assume this isn't a local solicitor, then? (If it was, you could of just gone in and signed?).0 -
If the seller is keen to move quicker then tell them that they can pay the £125 + vat otherwise its 2 weeks.Baby Step 6/7 . £16000 saved and invested. £47,000 deposit paid on new home DEBT FREE !!!

Sound like a right bunch of cowboys! I think I'd be suggesting that the appropriate compensation for them not expediting sending out the contract should be equal to their fee for expediting completion after exchange.Adventure before Dementia!0
