Sky Live Chat - Does it ever work?

I have some queries about an offer that Sky emailed me. So I phoned them up only to be told that they could only deal with such queries via Live Chat (whether that's true or not I don't know).
Anyway I go to Live Chat. Most of the time it shows 'busy, please wait...', and occasionally a 'Start Live Chat' button appears for a few seconds. However, clicking on that button never does anything. Am I doing something wrong? Does it ever work? Maybe they're just really really busy?

Agreed. It's very hit-&-miss when it works. But when it does I always find it better than actually phoning them. If nothing else, you end up with a copy of your chat as proof of any offers they have given you.0

Its definitely become harder to connect on Live Chat. For my renewal negotiations I've always used Chat for cancellation/recontract...until this last time when I had to phone because Chat was "busy" every time I tried over two days.
Also had the problem that , even when it became available I would type in the opening line -then find it had gone again!:(0
