I had a Cahoot card that offered exactly this service 10+ years ago.
Pretty handy in the days of large-scale hacking of supposedly secure data from online vendors.0 -
I realise this what you are asking for, but why not use PayPal, which is acceptable payment for many online purchases and doesn't disclose your credit card details??
The very significant issue with this solution is that you will likely not benefit from S75 protection as you are using a third-party.0 -
Revolut does offer the ability to get a virtual card number, but you've got to pay £5 for the privilege. It's basically the same fee as the physical card, but you won't get a card delivered.
I assume every number does cost them a fair amount so it's not economically sensible to hand them out for free.0
