Should I change my driving style for other road users?

As there is nothing more irritating than being stuck behind a very slow moving car for miles, then the instant there is a straight bit where you can overtake it takes off like a rocket, only to slow to a crawl again as soon as it reaches a bend, I'd say you did a very good job of winding him up.
If you are happy to do this, and have him 6" off your rear bumper in a rage, then fine.
Me, I'd have just let him past.....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Did they drive an old Peugeot and yell "MANIAC" at anyone passing them?
LOL.
Our A45 does that really loud "farty" / "bangy" exhaust thing that modern performance cars seem to do these days and its quite easy to time it so that it does it just level with the driver of the car your passing.
Its childish but i find it funny...0 -

Too many nutters about0 -
On a Speed Awareness Course (ahem) we were told in no uncertain terms that if you've an idiot on your tail to slow down, position to make it easy for them to overtake & let them go.
Not least as there had been three gang related shootings on their turf in the previous 6 months & they didn't want innocent civilians caught up in it.
Made abundant sense then, and I abide by it now. Life's too short.0 -

As opposed to trying to outrun them to 60MPH as they attempt to overtake?0 -
If I'm doing the speed limit (when road conditions allow etc etc), you have no business overtaking me. I'm not going to police your behaviour and I won't stop you overtaking, but neither will I pull over. I just think of the moron who hurtled past me in a 30 only to get stuck behind a herd of goats round the next bend (thankfully no goats were harmed by said moron).
On the other hand, someone who chooses to do less than the speed limit when conditions would otherwise be suitable should be aware of the lengthening queue stuck behind them and pull over in the next parking bay. This includes vehicles with lower limits for that road (yes, that means you too, Tesco lorries).0 -
Interesting to hear the replies - thanks.
So it seems, according to the law, I should've paused my acceleration to 60mph and let him pass. Admittedly I was of the attitude that I was going to drive as I would normally and not rise to his intimidating actions. And when he pulled out to overtake (by which time I was doing about 40mph and we had started going up hill) I assumed he had a very powerful car, not a souped-up Polo.
Plus, when the car appeared over the horizon, I figured it was better to let him drop back than me to brake and risk forcing him to stay on the wrong side of the road.
Either way, seems I should have altered my driving to allow him to pass.
From now on I'll do that, but the moment I'm then stuck behind someone who passed me in a 30 but does 45 in a 60, I'll be back here to moan!0 -

Generally speaking - let nutters past.0 -
Should have braked.
Serious note: think i would allow them to overtake can't be dealing with idiots, while hoping they have crash further up (only them) and drive past not stopping.0 -

I probably might have pulled in before the NSL sign. Especially if I know the road quite well and that there might be difficulty in doing so on a faster, but not necessarily safer part of the road. Tailgaters are easier to avoid on A and B roads than on motorways in many ways.0
