Yes, my RBS credit card account was closed in 2002/3, I had no statements only the account number and they found copies back to 2001, enough for a complaint to proceed.0

I didn't ask that:beer:
I asked if RBS keep every record no matter how long closed. A single example isn't proof of thatSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I thought the subject of this thread was about statements from fourteen years ago, so I responded to that.
Okay in hindsight I should have said No, not every record no matter how long closed but who knows the answer to that?
However, I'm not the only customer on this forum who's been able to obtain data, mainly statements, from RBS (and other lenders) for accounts that were closed over six years ago.
Anyway, thank you for pointing out my error. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.0
