Can anyone help just had my car damaged at hand car wash. I took my car to a hand car wash 5 days ago and have noticed that the top layer of paint seems to be coming off my bonnet and roof. Any advice as to what I can do

Sounds unlikely to be caused by a hand car wash, do you have any photos of the damage?0

When you say top layer of paint do you mean the clear coat or is a layer of coloured paint. The latter would suggest the panels have had a poorly prepared respray at some point in the past and the new paint did not bond properly to the surface and has been stripped off by the pressure washer at the car wash. If this is the case it is the fault of the sprayer not the hand car wash.0

How old is the car? Is it metallic or mica paint?0

Is it red?0

Do you live in an area frequented by seagulls?0

It could be the car wash if they used a powerful jet spray.0

I always find damage to my car after having it hand washed. They don't cause the damage, its just normally hidden by a layer of dirt.0

Lots of cheap car washes use brick acid (diluted, of course) to clean alloy wheels - it's good at cleaning the brake dust away.
If some got on the car body, it could well damage the paint.
Proving it is an entirely different matter!0 -
Could have been the use of a pressure washer to close to the paintwork.
I have seen it happen on a red car
Your mistake though, was to not hand wash the car yourself0 -
Will post some today when work out how to do it. Thanks0
