Thought I was the only on that felt like this.

Can someone please lock the thread, or better still obliterate it?

I am using surfshark vpn, since it is knew in the VPN industry, but it has been performing really really well. Previously i was using Nord VPN but due to recent poor performance of it i switched my VPN since it is comparatively cheaper and providing better services. Read its review on many website and on different vpn deals forum and websites. And after complete research was able to finalize that with which vpn i should go for.

I had a try yesterday and was not able to install Opera on my ipad, I was able to install Opera mini and Opera Touch, neither have the VPN option.

I was able to install Opera on my Sony android which does have the VPN option.

    Is TouchVPN free?

    Thanks,

Amazing to think that a large number of VPN apps have unattributable owners and the users have no idea who controls the servers where their traffic goes. A large number can be traced to shadowy developers in China with some detective work.

The Opera browser btw is now owned by a Chinese company. I wonder if it still 'phones home' if you're not using it in VPN or data compression mode.

    It's all here:

I don't get some of the angry comments here, of course, people come to talk about the software they use or like. And VPNs for personal use are relatively new, so I think it's important to come and discuss which ones are really reliable ones, and have in mind that using a shady one can cost your personal data falling into the wrong hand. Like in the post above, I'm using Surfsark too, their cheap prices (going for 83% discount this Black Friday) and good reviews made my choice :) I read on their blog yesterday that they had a cybersecurity audit, got their services checked for vulnerabilities and got good grades, happy to see VPN companies building up trust.

People also come on here to spam the forum .
VPN threads have attracted a lot of those .
There is also the fact that the word VPN seems to have suddenly become a buzzword especially for those that dont need one .

I can agree with you on this especially these days my mail box is filled with offers claiming tempting discounts but the best is not to fall for the trap especially when choosing security products. An unreliable service is capable of doing more harm than good, luckily for me i found an unusual norton vpn offer that has the antivirus features as well so far no issues

If all you want to do is watch BBC iPlayer when you're out of the UK then set up a Raspberry Pi as a VPN server (PiVPN), connect it to your home router and put OpenVPN client on your phone/tablet/laptop. It is probably the cheapest way to do it.
