My new coat has come in a smaller size and I can't work out if it's still too big!

    Today's spends:
    Garden £3.20
    Housekeeping £3.16
    MS stuff:
Discovered Mr A does tins of chicken tikka which make 2 small portions each and cost £1. With 5p's worth of rice or pasta that's 55p for a work meal rather than £1 upwards for ready meals. I don't often have ready meals but this is a good thing to have in my locker for a change.
Resisted some beautiful plants at the car boot sale and found I already had some of them bought as withered end-of-line bargains last year!

Don't forget the clocks are about to go forward an hour. :)

  • Dicentras are beautiful...I love finding plants that I'd forgotten about, particularly perennials. Enjoy the colours!

Hi Cherry, got really excited about the tins of chicken tikka for a £1, but went online to A$da and they are £1.50. I ordered one to try though because they are 400g tins and that is still pretty reasonable. But then I thought, is MrA A1di? Am I getting myself confused :rotfl:

The chinese chicken curry Mr SS likes from A$da is in the chiller aisle and is £3.50 for 450g so slightly bigger but more than twice the price of the cans. I've previously bought their frozen meal deals - two mains and two sides for £4 but of course the ones in the freezer are slightly smaller (350g). I think the tins definitely win.

You've also reminded me that Sainsbugs do tins of yummy veggie chilli for a £1 - I will be calling in for a few for the cupboard as soon as payday comes around :) Just spotted that they do a rice pot chicken tikka too - that would make a nice change from my lunchbreak mugshots for an occasional treat.

I've also just found a bag of frozen chicken tikka chicken strips from A$da - think I'll give those a try for DDs wraps - with the chiller aisle ones she's always either running out or the date is running out and they get wasted.

Sorry for the curry themed post :rotfl::)

I had a look, SS1000 and they ARE £1.50! I had looked online the other day and found their tins (Asda) ranged in price from under £1 upwards. At that point it was £1... but not any more :(. Sorry. However their Korma is £1 and the vindaloo is 95p. I wonder if it was on a roll back?

    Sorry to disappoint :(

Oh no, please don't be sorry CF, I was just interested to know. And I hadn't spotted the vindaloo or the korma - they are DHs and DDs favourites, so I've now added a couple of each to my A$da delivery. £1 for korma and only 95p for vindaloo!! Brilliant, thank you. I am trying to make meals from scratch, but for those occasions when I'm home late or just tired (or MrSS doesn't fancy what I've cooked) these are great and a real bargain.

Thank you for the tip off and have a lovely weekend. :)

Thanks W :) I'm going to make a point of actually going in sometime soon and hopefully will find some bargains. I'm going to look out for ss1000's frozen chicken tikka strips and Sainsbug's tinned veggie chilli - those might be useful for meals while at work.

This is my day off in what will be an otherwise rather crowded week. Visit to Mum's old house planned for the second half of the the week. Meanwhile I've been gardening which is the best thing imaginable after the long winter - and I see they have rescinded their forecast for Easter snow. :)

Nothing spent yesterday, 99p so far today on an e-book in the middle of the night. Sleep pattern is definitely not the best at the moment as the last couple of nights I've seen 3am.

Right, I am procrastinating, I need to take a couple of things to the post and get some shopping so if you see me on here before tonight. send me back to do my jobs.
