Hope your weekend is a good one.

Thank you Sam!*goes off to ransack sofa again*
Pretty good day at work again today! i know I would complain if I spent all my time on the computers but this evening I typed up a massive component of a file and sent in my January / February timesheets. Phew! So glad to have those out of the way.
I've sent an oats photo in to the Qu@ker competion but it's not the best picture, though the recipe, invented this lunchtime, was definitely a keeper. There are lots of nice-looking recipes on there so perhaps, just perhaps, I won't be the winner, but at least I've tried.
I also spent £1.80 on the garden: a stall on the market was selling pots of glorious winter aconite. My husband insists they are buttercups so I've told him they come back as buttercups in summer...
A few groceries bought, but instead of our Saturday chips we have eaten soup from the freezer and it was yummy. It seemed like a good idea all round with having eaten out such a lot this week and having no freezer space.
I've tried to talk DH into changing bank accounts but he insists he is emotionally attached to a particular bank as the account goes back years. I've explained he can keep the account, just move the main business elsewhere, so now I'd better leave it alone to sink in. I thought I was all genned up myself about where to move my bank account but when I looked it up I can see I'm going to have to think further.
So many things on the financial To Do list, some of which have been there at least since last summer: work out what to do about AVCs once the mortgage is paid off, get a better current account, get a better savings account, chase up possible missing pensions details, get my very old pension linked to my current one... that's all I can think of for now. Oh, find the bank log in that I lost last week and pay the milk bill, then search the sofa for 5p pieces.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Something I forgot but which is very satisfying, though not really relevant:
This diary is supposed to be about my earnings, the joint account I pay my wages into and dealing with my Mum's estate. We have another joint account where DH's money goes in. Mine pays the mortgage and household bills and his pays nearly everything else: council tax, travel, holidays, bills etc. We arranged a while ago that at the end of the month whatever is left from his pay will be skimmed off and shared between general savings and our holiday fund. This month rather a lot (by our standards) went into both!
I know that may not be the case from hereon in, but it somehow makes me feels we're getting somewhere with the finances, even though my pension is still miniscule.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning. Good luck with the competition!
We've looked at banks too and i still have no idea where to move it to. We already have 3 different ones so don't think i have much more choice.
Good luck with that 5p, maybe it's multiplied over time. Well done on the savings, it's a great feeling when things are going in the right direction.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Today's financial progress is somewhat unusual especially in the light of the remembered 5p. I found another... in the guinea pig's cage! It's tempting to suppose it was his secret stash but I suspect DH dropped it when handing over the carrot trimmings. Anyway the guinea pig hasn't missed it yet so it's gone in DH's change dish.
We had a lovely walk this afternoon - a few miles through woods on the warmest day so far. I'm pretty sure this really is spring, at last! Most of the family was round for dinner this evening (DS2 was at work) and DD baked two lovely cakes, most of which are now in our cupboard. That may well be MS as DH likes to buy the occasional pastry with his lunch. I also put the remains of today's vegetable ragu in the freezer for a work meal sometime. Freezer space really doesn't last long.
Nothing spent today.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi Cherry
Thanks for popping by to check how I am doing. I am doing OK but not quite as well as I'd hoped.
I agree with the above comment about you being a kind person. That is exactly what I feel too, although I may have to change my opinion after reading that you pinched 5p from the guinea pig - I mean, how could you? He might be saving for his own escape plan and now he will have to start all over again.
And 5p pieces? I hate them. They get into the places coins shouldn't be which is annoying when you are trying to record exactly what you have spent. OK rant over.
I think our parents were loyal to their banks but that was when the local bank manager actually knew you and made judgements on the person not just the numbers. When loyalty paid dividends to both sides. I can't understand why institutions don't realise that consumers now want to feel valued and showing loyalty to them is the first step for us to start trusting them again.
Have a good week, take care honey
