Thank you WannabeFree, it's beautifully sunny here and I have a snuggly fleece to wear so it's looking good.
I am in procrastination mode as there are some things to do and it all seems a bit much. However it won't get any smaller if I do nothing.
I may be back later if I need to kick myself into more action but for now here's the lost (and I have work at 2 so I won't get it all done).
Gifts: Still haven't organised a single main gift! So... order DH's.
Ironing (:rotfl: I managed a bit the other day but there's a big mound of it.)
Wrap the old Fitb!t that needs to go back as the strap fell to bits.
Wrap and package up gifts to go abroad in someone's suitcase.
Piano practise.
Guitar practise. (I know this appears as a new item but my poor guitar was gathering dust. even a few minutes will help toughen up my fingers).
I don't think I need to spend anything if I can organise food from the cupboards.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Well, that was a total non-event of a list. Not a bit of it got done!
I did, however, do some proper deep cleaning for an hour or so, and I made it to work. I also spent nothing, researched a present for DS and am now ready to get some sleep, which may be a good idea as I'm working all weekend.
DH has brought the tree down from the loft (MS - I didn't know we had one! :rotfl:) and started writing cards. He is A Hero.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Another profitable day thanks - though no pennies found. I had a mad wrapping session and got some presents posted. DH took them and paid for the postage though it comes out of a joint account... but if he spent it, I didn't, so, NSD
.
I managed to stay away from the shops and have £25.52 left of the week's food money! I have put the £5.52 into the change jar so it goes towards the milk bill (doorstep delivery) and the rest is going to the Christmas food. That means I only spent £14.48 on food this week, which is quite amazing. I know DH really likes the look of a beef en croute-type thing he saw in the freezers at the supermarket and we don't usually have beef so I'll see if I can get us one this week coming before they all go.
Other than that I've been at work... and I will be tomorrow afternoon too. DH bought the Sunday lunch and went about £8 over his share of the budget which cancels out some of my savings but not his fault as he's done most of the buying this week.
NSD.
MS stuff:
Eating out of stores yet again. Overnight oats made with sultanas, cinnamon and a pinch of ginger - yum!
Ran out of time to do shopping and forgot to ask DH to get bread so I will be finishing a loaf and maybe being a bit inventive to eke it out till Monday.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hello Cherry
Just a quick catch up - you sound very organised for Christmas! I still have another week and a bit of full time at part time job so can't even bring myself to think about it as it brings on waves of panic:o

Thanks for dropping in NOA, especially when you are so busy and tired. Co-incidentally, I've just popped in to your thread. Keep your head down for the next week and a bit, and after that, whatever will be, will be.Nothing has to be perfect, just get yourself through and promise catch-ups of all sorts in January if you have to.
As for me, I bought a knitted angel for DDiL today, and it's snowing again. Second time this month. It's also just below freezing. I'm watching the weather as well as progress on the boiler because if they don't look favourable, I'm postponing the trip to Mum's old house. I put in a provisional food order for the trip last night then lay awake waiting for DS to get in (3am) and wondering if I could cope without an online food shop as it came to £19, of which £6 was packing and delivery.

Well, a couple of positives already today:
Late on last night I ordered DH's present, which was rather expensive but I know it's what he really wants. I've also cancelled the original grocery delivery and changed to Mr A, where I can get delivery for £1.Much more reasonable than £6! There is a minimum spend of £40 but I think I've solved that as DS2's Christmas present is on that order now so I'm not buying food that I don't really want. If for some reason I can't go to the house this week, I can cancel and still get it locally but it won't be too heavy should I need to take it in my suitcase.
I won't feature the Mr A spending in my accounts till I get it as there's still the possibility of change.

Sounds like a good change of plan Cherry to cancel the online shop, £6 delivery is a bit of a killer blow .
It's horrible lying awake waiting for DC to get back home safely isn't it? I can never sleep until they get back either. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
