I don't drink just water as it doesn't give the acid anything to "feed" on.

DH and I had a run before lunch: not very far or fast but out on the road towards a neighbouring village. The leaves are getting a bit thin on the trees now but the ones at home are like bright yellow lace and our little maple tree is coming into its best colour for the first time. Lovely.
I fell asleep again this afternoon - not used to all the hours I've worked over the past few days. Of course now I'm a bit too wide awake again, but we had dinner at A and H's this evening: things are feeling more normal after their horrendous year and various health problems. Not all these are behind them but there was a positive feel. We had a walk after tea to keep H's blood glucose down, she manages it very well. It gave us some time to talk which is lovely. We were also shown the nursery, which is taking shape nicely.
I have been knitting a lot today so there's about 6cm left of the main knitting on the grey jumper, after which I have the making up and the neckline to do. Making up doesn't seem to be anyone's favourite job and I'm no exception, and the neckline is a new technique, but I'm determined. After that I can start on the baby blanket: I'm trying hard not to have more projects on the go, hence finishing the grey jumper.
I had a text to arrange a meeting about helping with the cleaning at church, nothing dramatic but I want to get more involved and once every three weeks or so won't hurt me.
DH had a meeting on the other side of town this evening so I wandered back through town after H and A's dinner. I spent £13.39 at the supermarket which is probably a good indication I should curtail these late night shopping trips! No amazing markdowns this time though I saved 50p due to offers, and resisted the 'save £5 if you spend £40'. There's no way I needed to spend £40, and even with the stuff I got I had to buy a 20p carrier bag for the second day running. I did get some stollen towards Christmas though - it's hidden at the back of the larder!
My fried who was unwell yesterday is still poorly today, I must remember to text her again tomorrow. DH has heard from the friend with a brain tumour: he's having to stay in hospital till his blood count looks better so I need to contact his wife too. There seem to be quite a few folks who aren't well at present.
Things I'm thankful for tonight: spending time with A and H, and the improvements in their health. Beautiful trees in our garden. DH making progress on the kitchen and tidying up in the garden. Day off!
I'm back on the late shift and sleep in tomorrow at work.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Late shift last night then the sleep in at work. This morning was originally mine but a colleague and I swapped and now the colleague is isolating so they needed cover for the morning and I offered to swap back - but then a client didn't show up so they didn't need me on the morning shift and someone reminded me they were going to be late in this afternoon which I said would be fine as I'd be in... then because of the person isolating and the client not showing up there wasn't enough very early morning cover this morning so I ended up staying on for the first half hour in the morning and covering an hour and a half around handover this afternoon, but actually had most of the day off in lieu of yesterday which was originally my day off but I took it as an extra shift.
Could you make it up?!
The Christmas mess at work lingers on and is oppressive for reasons of my own apart from the fact people will be away from their families when they don't need to be.
Other than that I've been knitting and the everlasting grey jumper now has one shoulder seam and most of the ribbing round the neck. I've also cleaned out the fish tank and had a sort of half day off.
We had some great news from J who rang to tell us she's got a distinction in her Masters. That's so amazing but so well earned and we're very proud of her.

Baby is due during Christmas week... but of course there's quite a time around that when he or she might appear!
