It's good of you to drop in, please make yourself at home.
I don't know if Taxi was from Blackpool but could well have been... how very sad. It's one of the things that's so hard with forum friendships. Sometimes people leave and you don't know why. There was another lady from Ireland who had cancer and stopped posting... gone but not forgotten.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Not sure what I'm doing with this 'ere day off. I haven't made best use of it so far, having downloaded another Terry Pratchett (£1.99) last night. Nice escapism though.
A couple more rows of jumper are done: I want to finish the sleeve this week which is do-able if I focus. I'm not sure how long the making up and neckband will take.
I've decluttered a small bag of bits and pieces that had been to the old house with me and come home with some extras in. Some of those are homeless sundries and will get shoved with other homeless sundries for now. Other bits are knitting accessories which go with the other knitting accessories. Meanwhile I'm still working my way through endless toiletries in the hope I will eventually finish a few. I'm still holding out for after-sun lotion being the best thing ever for foot care, and some old sun cream is getting used up as moisturiser.
DH is working on the kitchen. We've still not found a tiler: they realise it's a small job and never get back to us so DH has removed damaged tiles, filled holes and is skimming the result in the hope we might be able to do it ourselves. I remember tiling for one wall in the bathroom was £100, years ago, so we could save ourselves quite a bit if we can bring it off.
I am thinking that I ought to be true to my aspirational thread title and 'take the reins' financially. Paying off the mortgage, DH changing jobs, me inheriting money (when that's all finalised) will mean a new set of financial stuff and I'm getting very hung up on not making the perfect decision. Of course no decision is effectively a decision not to optimise what I've got, so I should do something.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sun_Addict said:I have a story about marzipan. As a child and teenager I loved it. Everyone used to save it for me from wedding/Christmas cakes. My mum once sent me to the shop to buy a pack of it one Christmas and I ate the whole lot on the way home, had to go back and get another one 🤣 Probably felt a bit 🤢 I don’t like it now though, must’ve overdone it 🤣Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201

Tilings not too hard depending on how many you have to cut. My ex partner was rubbish at DIY in general but he managed to tile our bathroom years ago and it looked fine 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201

Finally caught up!Did you know that one of the side effects of omeprazole is that after taking it for a while it can cause the very symptoms it is supposed to be stopping! It only worked for just over 4 weeks for me. Bring back cimetidine! I now control it by controlling what I eat. Another one on levothyroxine sodium here too!1

I had no idea of that about omeprazole. To be fair I've been able to go months without missing it but recently I've needed it. In the past I've had a few choking episodes which seem to come from stomach acid washing up and being inhaled while I've been asleep. The worst one was at work (I do sleep ins sometimes) and I woke up coughing and fighting for breath for what felt like quite a while but was probably not long - yet as I say I can go months without problems.
I know evening chocolate can set it off but I'm not sure what else to avoid, sometimes even a drink of water can seem to trigger acid. Trying to lose weight seemed to help, but I don't know how much was weighing less and how much was eating less.
So many people are on levothyroxine! I'm always so grateful for it, it's turned my life around.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
