Glad you've managed to eat something. That is always a good sign.
And well done on the nsd.Proud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0 -
Antibiotics can be brutal can't they. Glad you've got them swapped to as different one.
Hope you get a good night's sleep

It's been a better day today: I had a good night of sleep even after all that sleep yesterday and got up and dressed straight away just because I felt well again. By the end of the afternoon I was pretty tired, though not falling-asleep tired. I've been worried about work tomorrow though because Friday night shifts are heavy. I've even messaged a group of colleagues to say I'll be there but treat me gently!
A weird side effect of the drug is loss of appetite. I had to make myself have lunch about 3.15 this afternoon and am not feeling hunger. Some of the other side effects are wearing off but this one is a bit unnerving. I love my food!
I've divided the remains of my November pay and put half towards the mortgage, bringing this month's total to £253.49. DH reminded me that we no longer need to pay DS2 an 'allowance' (he got a different student income from DD which meant we had to supplement his study) - anyway that's £150 a month extra till DH retires - all of four months - plus I will double check the numbers on shared bills and DS2 can start paying these in December. I don't think the reality of being a wage earner has really hit home: he's just bought a much 'nicer' phone than anyone in the family, with a contract of over £1 a day, so I've cautioned him to be careful. Next it will be upgrading his car but thankfully it's not long got through its MOT so maybe we've staved that off.
Spending:
Mortgage £44.98
Housekeeping £6.13
MS:
Another of those £2 coins, making my savings £2 better off and my housekeeping £2 leaner. (Total in purse £11.87).
Lots of small change as I changed out the lose change in the savings jar for bigger coins yesterday: 10th coins = 80p.
Maths may be out a bit as I needed a few pence small change from general funds for the food shop rather than give a smaller retailer a note for a 28p purchase.
Bought rosemary at the eco shop: supplied my own container. Total = 28p.
Decluttering:
Dried up garlic to compost. 2 jars to eco shop. Piece of paper in recycling. Unusable antibiotic back to chemist.
Tonight I'm thankful for feeling better even though I still feel a bit peculiar!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning! And what a beautiful, sunny morning it is! Yesterday just rained and rained... you would never think it now.
I've called in to have a brief moan and try to get some order into my day. I'm moaning because I'm short of sleep - DH has The Cold now and slept propped up so I went to sleep on the sofa and didn't drop off till 3.30, then woke when DS2 went to work at 6.15 - but I did get back to sleep for an hour. When DH went to work I went back to bed and the postman immediately knocked! So I've given up on sleep and am hoping to get out in the fresh air. It may be cold but it's so much nicer than indoors.
I also feel as though I'm starting another cold... I can't be, can I? Maybe I'm just tired.
So, the plan for the day:
Get dressed! Sitting here in pyjamas isn't doing much good.
Do the ironing.
Order book for DD.
Have a bit of a tidy round.
Make dinner to take to work.
Get out in the sunshine.
I have checked the bank and pay is in! So I've paid an extra £150 off the mortgage. I tried to transfer an equal amount into savings but that website is down. I messaged DS2 about starting a 'Help to Buy' ISA as they have to be done by tomorrow, but he's at work so I don't know when he'll get time to see it.
Will report back later to let you know how it's all going.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I got most of yesterday's list done - not the ironing or ordering the book, though. Work went okay, not too strenuous.
Spending:
Housekeeping £1.25
Medical £1
Mortgage £150.00
MS:
10th coins into savings £1.50

Today I went back into my CC account and paid it off... also transferred the remainder of November's money to savings which have done relatively well out of it this time.
I'm still coughing but an interesting bit of research last night showed me that actually a lot of what I now have might be side effects from a common drug that I was prescribed a couple of weeks ago before the doctor got the swab results back from my throat problems. She thought I might have reflux and was treating this but now we know it's an infection, I don't think I need to keep taking the drugs, especially as they could be causing these excessive symptoms... So I haven't taken any today, we'll see if that helps.
I've had my eye on a phone in the Black Friday sales, I think the offer is on for another couple of days if they still have them available. DS2 thinks I should go for a later model but he doesn't mind paying over £1 a day for phone use... to me that's about £350 a year that I needn't be spending!
My current phone has been difficult to use for some months despite doing all the clearing I can on it so it's definitely time to replace. I have to make a decision soon...
Meanwhile we have a second cold, sunny day. So nice!
ETA: Gift £6.79 (that's the book for DD - found it cheaper than @mazon)

Phone is ordered! I'm paying more upfront and going for the shortest contract possible so I will be free of it ASAP but the actual contract bit is less than my already-low one so that's pretty good.
Total cost including 1st month's contract payment = £196.47.
It's paid on my CC but I'm going to pay it off straight away and still get my loyalty points.
The cold has turned into a wheezy cough... at least it's changing.
In the next couple of days I'll cancel the old phone payments but I think I'm too late to do it for this month and even if I'm not, it will leave me phoneless for a couple of days.
Must get to bed...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Not much to report: I still have the cold... not quite so bad though I had a huge coughing attack at work and had to ask not to work with a particular client as I couldn't be physically active without setting off the cough. I'm glad my days off are due.
A quietish day on the money front:
Spending:
Milk bill (housekeeping) £6.57
Housekeeping £3.54
MS:
Amazingly, there was £10.62 left in last week's housekeeping! The 62p can go into savings and next week I can take out £20 instead of £30 (could have done it this week of course but wasn't thinking).
10th coin savings 42p.
Decluttering:
None
I'm thankful that the coughing fit was a one-off! And I'm thankful for days off.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

So it's lunchtime on my day off and as usual I'm just about to make a list.
I had a good night's sleep so am feeling that at last I'm on the mend. Nice sunny day, too, and Not Cold.
My new phone has just arrived so while it charges I want to get some jobs done. (New toy time!)
Here's the list:
Get a decent lunch (eating chocolate doesn't count)
Tidy kitchen
Hang washing on line
hoover round
put away dry washingI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
