The shopping was followed by a mad scramble to remove sticky labels, wrap and pack everything. It was only successful because DS2 took them to the post for me while I hared off to work.

I remembered I needed to reclaim some money from the estate so that's now done, and also money to DS2 to cover the postage. They don't show up in 'my' account as gifts come from the one DH pays into, but to help me know what my costs are, I'll list them here.

Not as tired today... not sure how I'm going to get everything done in my forthcoming two days off, but I'm going to see about joining Amaz0n Pr!me in a minute, using that free month they are dangling in front of me. It might save a bit, but only if I remember to cancel it! I will probably turn up on here to keep myself accountable and moan about the difficulties of shopping online (and on foot).

    Spending:
    Housekeeping £11.45
    Postage £10.50
    Gifts £40.00 (vouchers) + £10.00 (misc) + £21.98 (books)
    Total £91.93

    Reclaimed from Estate £120 + £54.06

    MS:
    10th coin savings 20p
Finished up some food I had in the fridge at work
I actually had loyalty cards with me for the shops I used!
Grateful for The W0rks for pressies for my niece :)

Thank you Wannabe - I think if there were ever a forum for people who owed themselves a lot of sleep, I would be a prime candidate. Mind you, I think I would meet a few people from here confessing to getting by on thin air when it comes to rest, so I'm in good company!

Off to catch up on your day's doings now. :)

I don't know how you fit everything in on so little sleep

I tried not to post today - after all who wants to read a list of the things I intend to do! However, very few of them are getting done: I've done two loads of washing (one of which is still dumped on the settee) and cleared condensation off windows with a small mould clearance thrown in for free, so a list is called for.
    hang washing on line
check where I'm up to with presents
    join Pr!me
    empty dishwasher
    get some fresh air.
    put yesterday's washing away
    do ironing
    put shower curtain up
    buy groceries

Nearly dark and it's not yet 4 o'clock!
    Progress so far:
    hang washing on line done
check where I'm up to with presents
    join Pr!me
    empty dishwasher done
    get some fresh air. done
put yesterday's washing away done apart from socks
    do ironing
    put shower curtain up done
    buy groceries

I've also made some cakes as I realised I had lots of eggs that needed to be used or thrown and I don't like to waste then. Neither do I like wasting any kind of food so I've been using up flour, mixed dried fruit, bananas and spices. :)

    Off to the shops now.

Funnily enough, I was hoovering earlier and thought you would be horrified at how much cleaning my house needs! :rotfl: I did get the cobwebs that had got inside the lightshades, if you are needing any inspiration. :)

OBL, that's very handy to know about cancelling the membership, thanks. I am very good at remembering on the due date, so I remember birthdays, but not until it's too late to send a card. (That reminded me the meter readings were due so I hurriedly did them :rotfl:).

I made some progress with the list but the ironing remains not done and the presents aren't checked - I have a list though so that can go with me tomorrow.

I bought some Christmas supplies along with the groceries. I am happy to leave turkey to chance but it would be very sad if we didn't have chipolatas! Then I had a longing for coleslaw so I bought unplanned carrots, cabbage and mayo - but it was very nice.

I've been at a friend's for the evening and popped into Mr T on the way back, where I talked myself out of buying a reindeer plant holder that was half price. Then I bumped into DH who had had an evening meeting, and somehow ended up adding various reduced veg to the one loaf of bread he was buying. Did quite well for reduced items today, in fact, which is just as well as the gas meter reading seems to have leapt up despite us not using the heating as often.

    Spending:
    Housekeeping £13.40
    MS:
    10th coin savings 30p
    Wombled 2p
Two lots of muffins/fairy cakes made using items that needed to be used or thrown out. Unfortunately this does not help my waistline!
A whole lot of DH's socks reunited in pairs and useable again.
    Decluttering:
Eggs, bananas, dried fruit and margarine used up. (Space will be taken with the veg I bought!)

  • You got a lot done :) A list always helps me make sure I do something otherwise I tend to start everything and finish none :o :rotfl:

Hope you got a good nights sleep and you have a lovely day today
