Hope you got the bank thing sorted. Wonder what it was?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I haven't been to the bank yet.
The weather was truly foul this morning then I realised I had to be in work a lot earlier than I'd thought as there was a meeting. So nothing spent, either.
Did I mention I am functionally Christmas Jumper-less? I have two and they are packed in the loft. DD couldn't see them while she was up there and I am not risking re-running my rapid descent from the hatch! I did have a vague look in town the other day but there wasn't anything I liked and I'm quite glad really as neither of the ones I have is exactly worn out. Work is talking about having a Christmas jumper day but I don't expect they'll sack me if I don't have one. I have better use for the money and storage, too.
(Bah humbug)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That does sound odd about your bank log in. We started off with heavy rain this morning then brilliant sunshine, then back to heavy rain and that's how it's stayed
We wear cotton scrubs at work and I have a special Christmas one I like to wear ,it will only come out for Christmas Eve this year though because I have got Christmas Day and Boxing Day off for the second time in 26 years:eek::j:jOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200 -
I like the idea of a Christmas set of scrubs!
Yay to Christmas Day and Boxing Day!! How wonderful! We always hold our breathe about them because while we are shut more often than not, sometimes we're on call for emergencies. I haven't had to work an actual Christmas Day yet, which I'm very thankful for, though I've been a keyholder during the on call period. I generally work New Year, or at least offer to because I don't do much at NY, I'm a Christmas person, so to speak.
We do get double pay for working any of the Bank Holidays, so there's a positive side to it!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

We have sunshine again! Nobody else at home today so I am being lazy but that's not going to last. I think I have been putting off going for a run and that's delayed everything else so I'm just going to get on DO things.
There's washing in the machine: I've learned from recent weeks that everyone else wants to do laundry on a Saturday, so even though it's not a full load, it's being done today. I also need to clean around the house before work.
Pay is in! So I've paid the savings back the £56 that remained of the bits I'd transferred to current. Thankfully DH's pay has been generous this month - he's on a salary but it looks as though some expenses have gone through.
Mine, on the other hand, has gone down. I knew it would as I've reduced my hours: pay was slightly less than I thought but that's almost exactly by the amount I'd get paid for a sleep in and I've lost the only rotaed sleep in I had. I can still pick up random ones in theory but they have to fit in with my amended duties.
And Amaz0n have sent me a timely invitation to rejoin Pr!me... must just do that. Tempting.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think the reduced hours are suiting me thanks, HH. Well, so long as I don't overdo things on my days off!
I had an objective look at our sideboard this morning - that gathering ground for oddments brought back from Mum's - and decided it was time to clear, clean and polish. This attack of sprucing up spread a little, so the adjacent furniture and a windowsill have had the same treatment and all looks much better. Sadly the piano is now ultra-cluttered so I ought to do that next. I didn't get rid of much: one thing I was ready to throw out got claimed by DS2 but a couple of other things have gone. All the polishing looks nice, though, and DH has put up a clock that my Mum had bought in Austria years ago. It's a cuckoo clock and looks pretty where he's put it but it doesn't work. He's offered to get it repaired, which is generous of him but I'm leaving it for now: it could be expensive and we aren't good with clocks chiming, let alone cuckoo-ing!
Finance-wise, I've paid the CC up to date and bought a few groceries. The nice till gave me back a couple of £2 coins so those are going into savings. Very money-savingly, my favourite coffee is no longer on the best price and as I won't need any more for a while I can stop hoarding it.

In an attack of enthusiasm I have just sorted through all the receipts on Spike and he's now looking much more dapper. I realised I'd never get round to doing whatever I thought I should be doing with most of them, largely because I've forgotten what it was. I've kept some travel receipts to check I've reclaimed where applicable, and found two for Christmas presents I bought during the summer, which is good because it reminds me to look those bits out! I also found a stray £1 which I think had got separated from the 10th coin savings.
One of these days I'll put those savings in the bank. There is now over £40, so it's been worth doing.
Of course, those receipts were tucked out of sight behind a curtain so nothing's gone from view, but at least I don't have to worry about that particular lot of mess ever coming to light. Not that it makes much difference when there's so much else to deal with, but in my head it does. Fellow clutter-bugs will know what I mean! :rotfl:
That reminds me there is slightly less visible clutter around my waistline.I'm hoping to get down to a round number by Monday, and eventually down to a slimmer number, not a round one.
So a positive end to the day.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
