In all seriousness, there are many MANY reports of people ripping off the elderly with this "fish scam".

    https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=30&site=&source=hp&q=van+selling+bad+fish&oq=van+selling+bad+fish

I've also found suggestions of a link between the fishy van guys and pet theft.

You really codn't make this stuff up.........

A white. Ford transit van KV10BSU, selling rubbish fish out back today in Retford area of Nottinghamshire, the occupants sold crap fish unfit to eat To my dad, he was forced to pay by card £117 , the family is angry about this. My checking has uncovered a similar event in Northampton a year or two back. CCTV caught these peoples van . My dad is elderly. Po?Ice and trading standards have been made aware. Watch out for these folks.

All joking aside, it might be advisable to cancel the card. Have you contacted his bank to ask about chargeback?

I read the post and thought I could smell something fishy, just sounded a bit spamy. But then again I know I can get crabby so did not want to over react and be a complete sprat.
