Inheritance tax allowance

My mother has been widowed twice - firstly in 1964 and subsequently in 2007. There seems to be differing opinion on whether her estate would be eligible for the £350,000 tax allowance. Any thoughts or advice welcome.

It's a bit complicated with multiple marriages, but we don't have enough datails to comment really. Did her second husband leave everything to her, if not how much went elsewhare?0

not sure but so far as I'm aware neither time has there been any use of the allowance?
I'll need to check for further info
Thanks for the response though0 -
My understanding is your mother would qualify for her full allowance (£325,000) plus a maximum of £325,000 of either or both late husbands' unused allowances which can be combined so a potential allowance of £650,000 and shortly the additional allowances for family home.
