I had PPI for free on trial should I claim

Options
As far as I remember I was given free PPI to try it out for a limited time when I had a Lloyds account in the late 90-ies. If I remember well I didn't extend this and never paid. Is it easy to find out if they owe me any money? Or, if what i remember is correct, is it not worth the hassle. Or could I claim because they might not have it on record that it was free. I've never been interested but maybe I should look into it. I don't remember the exact year and I moved house then so I would have 2 address that needed checking.

I honestly can not understand this mentality. ...

I was given something to try for free did not want it so did not take it. What can I get for free I am not entitled to it as did not pay for it but what the hell ???? Good god no wonder our country is in a financial mess.

The level of greed some people have is astonishing.

Leaving aside the tongue-in-cheek aspect of your query....

You can ask the Bank if you subsequently purchased the policy, but even if you did it would be difficult to describe it as mis-sold. If you actively extended the policy after a free trial, it would be mis-bought rather than sold to you.

I asked just in case some clever person knows more than I do. The banks have made enough money out of us. It is a long time ago more than 17 years I don't remember exactly what happened.

You got a free product and then cancelled it. So you paid 0.00
So you are entitled to absolutely 0.00 back.

It is that easy to find out.

Come on taff, you forgot the 8% simple interest of 0.00 a year on top of that

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
