John lewis

Hi
I had bought a expensive tv from john lewis less than one year and now it started to give problems . I had written to head of the customer care but they are not helping me to solve it. so i wrote to ombudsman but they replied me that john lewis is not participating with them. so Could some one please help me whom should i contact to complaint against them.

when I wrote to them today they replied me as follows
"To confirm, we at John Lewis are not part of any ADR schemes and not under the jurisdiction of either an Ombudsman or ADR scheme"

so please help me whom should i contact or what should i do

regards

greatsag

So what exactly is the issue? What are JL doing, or not doing that's causing you an issue?

What happened before you wrote to head office?

Whilst JL's service is not as good as it was, a one year old (genuinely) faulty tv would usually be dealt with without difficulty.

Not sure why you think you're entitled to either of those things, but you're not. I suggest you stop being unreasonable and accept the repair.

They are acting within their rights. They are offering to resolve the situation. From what you have said you have no grounds to complain.

You should really know your rights and more importantly theirs before making demands.

I have unfortunately had a problem with a Samsung TV I bought from John Lewis. They had it repaired promptly, at a convenient time, in my home by a very professional repair company who are an approved service agent for most of the the popular makes.

I suggest you let them do the same with yours as you certainly don't have the "rights" you are demanding!

In the unlikely event that doesn't solve the problem and maybe if a further attempt is unsuccessful then, and only then, do you start writing letters to head office demanding a replacement!

At the moment all you are doing is making yourself look ignorant and antagonising the people you need to help you.

I've had 2 TVs repaired by JL in the past. They do a good job of it. Both of them were under 2 years old.

TVs break.. let them fix them. You won't know the difference between a repaired TV and a new one.

Actually - I'd argue that a 'fixed' TV will last longer than a new one - because it's had closer testing on the components most likely to fail

Ombudsman wouldn't be able to help you. Nobody will. John Lewis are doing nothing wrong
