Credit score & credit card application

Options
Hi,
1) I have checked my credit score/report with Experian and Equifax within the last month. Upon the second search my credit score has dropped 200 points, Could this be because I checked it multiple times in a short period? If yes, how can I get it back up? (there are no missed payments etc)

2) Is there any way I can check what details I submitted to a credit card application almost 5 years ago? (employments, salary etc..)

Thanks in advance!

    1) Ignore the score. It serves no function.

    2) The only way would be to do a SAR to the lender.

It is a pointless system that takes people for a ride monetary wise on a regular basis and as for checking what you wrote 5 years ago unless you lied blatantly on the application it will not make much difference, I know what my wage has been throughout most if not all of my working life.

Be hard to define the drop in the score only you see was due to a search.

You can check it as many times as you like the score will not drop nor will it go up.

    1) YOU checking your file is a "soft search" - it isn't seen (or counted) by anyone but you and doesn't affect your "score".

Do remember the two companies you listed are different and use a different scare just to confuse you... Oddly from memory I think it's about 150 difference in the highest score range. IE Equifax is 850 and Experian max is 999. Don't compare the scores (for what they're worth)

I used to check mine weekly (I was testing a theory LOL) and it made no difference to my score that I viewed it. Only hard searches will impact anything.

    2) You can try a SAR, but why would you need to know???
