Future proof yourself by getting a UHD/4K monitor.
At the moment there isn't much content but if you view the 4K demos on youtube using a 4k monitor you will see how good it is.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
The OP linked to a £120 monitor. After reading the recommendations in this thread I checked 4K monitors but unfortunately even the cheapest cost far more than I paid for my PC.
I guess I'm just a cheapskate but I'll stick with the cheapy AOC HD one I bought a long time ago.
That said I spend far more time on a tablet now than sat in front of a computer. Retiring moved me away from creator to consumer.0 -
If you're in no great rush keep an eye on Hot Deals, they often have monitors on there, typically, nothing there today.

This "future proofing" stuff is nonsense, things move on so fast and people used "future proofing" as an excuse to go out and spend £2000 on a 3D TV, or whatever, all your actually doing is buying trendy+expensive stuff that could easily flop in a few years time.
People have been doing the same for years when it comes to PCs, 20 years ago you absolutely HAD to have a scuzzy (SCSI) drive in your PC, a few years later SATA blows them out of the water at a MUCH lower price point. One year you HAVE to have an ATI GFX card, the next year your forced to buy NVIDIA because the latest games/software won't run with your card. Don't follow the trends, sit back and wait, then buy technology after it's had a good few years to mature.
Buying the latest stuff is not "future proofing" it's stupid.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

4K is now mainstream and no longer just a trendy fad. Unlike 3D which is now dead, I had no interest in 3D from day one so I've never gone there.
I usually wait about a year or so before buying into anything and only then because I can actually use it and not because it's the latest thing. Future proofing for me means buying the best of whatever it is you are buying not necessarily what's hot.
The latest thing is IOT and so far, I'm not convinced of the need..;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Do your PC has HDMI out?
You can also consider getting a 22" TV instead.0
