Looking for a large computer monitor

I have just treated myself to a new Windows 10 desktop computer and fancy a new, larger monitor
My current one is a Samsung 18" which has been good.
I'll probably keep the old computer, so need the new monitor
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I don't do any gaming, just normal internet (Ebay) stuff. maybe I'll watch TV on the new computer too and / or Youtube
This looks decent enough for about £120

thank you

There's a good selection on www.ebuyer.com
To my old eyes they all look much the same. You'll want full HD though.
Do check the connection lead/socket is compatible with your desktop.0 -
AOC i2369Vm. Excellent reviews, great picture, HDMI, DVI and Displayport inputs and its £129.99 from PC World/Currys.

Whatever you get make sure its got an IPS panel so the colours don't go to pot when looking at it from an angle. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

What????
Yeah you go get a HD PC monitor, it'll be like staring at a bag of melted march mallows.
If I play a HD quality movie on my PC, it takes up less than 1/3 of the screen. PC monitors have hugely higher resolution than a HD TV.
As for OP, take a look on overclockers.co.uk, lots of choice and most importantly honest reviews from people that know about PCs. So even if you didn't buy from them, you get a fair idea of what you want.
I have a 27inch iiyama (one of the best brands in PC monitor) monitor, you could get similar for £150-£200, or 30inch for £250+“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

27" 2560x1440 IPS would be a minimum for me.......Couldn't possibly go smaller and 1920x1080 just looks cramped now.
Budget buster, but, well worth it IMO.
THIS is next as part of the Office refurb............Bit OTT, but there are no pockets in shrouds...:DDrinking Rum before 10am makes you

There's nothing wrong with a 1920x1080 monitor up to about 24" IMO.
Larger resolutions are great if you want to stream 4K material or work with large spreadsheets etc, but are a bit OTT for ordinary web browsing and email etc.
For instance this website is 1024 pixels wide, and if you go full screen it doesn't get any wider, so on a high resolution monitor it would just be a thin strip down the middle of the screen, unless you mess around with the zoom setting.0 -
I have a Samsung U28E590D, 3180x2160 I.e 4K. Fantastic monitor if you need lots of screen area for CAD work but probably over the top for normal use.For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

A monitor is probably the most important component of a PC as you have to look at it day and night.
It will often last the life of several PC's.
I would start by creating a short list within your budget from someone like scan
https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/monitors/101/336
Then check out the reviews, negative and positive at Amazon on specific models.
Then go look for the best price for that model.
I would also look at power consumption.
For my money Dell monitors have always been great. I used one of those 24inch ones that can rotate for years and still have it boxed up as a backup. The anti glare is brilliant on Dell, they seem to have the right balance.
However, I can't speak for latest models. Do the review research, figure out whether it is a one off or lots of people with a particular problem. Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That is some beast, if I played games and actually has 2 pennies to rub together I would be temped, but can you actually sit so close to such a beast for normal office work? Please be nice to all MoneySavers. True, if you are a single task person then the extra would be wasted, unless you also like to game or view a lot of video content. They aren't for everyone, but worth a thought for some.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I'm not saying that they are for everyone, it's way more than I actually need. I'm just getting one because I like the look of it. 27" is ideal for my usage, this is just pure indulgence.;)
This might be a money saving site, but what is the point of saving it and then not spending it on things you want? That would be totally pointless...:DDrinking Rum before 10am makes you
