Sky so unhelpful

Just called Sky as not happy with price increase for landline/broadband.
Currently get free unlimited ADSL broadband and 60% of TV package until August and take anytime calls for £8 monthly as an extra.
They are aware that I am due to leave next week but won't budge on price. tried to get a discount on unlimited fibre discounted but they want £30 a month.

has anyone else had any success, all I get is no deals on your account available

  • It all seems to depend on who you get through to...I had an email from them offering a second years free broadband, I spoke to 5 or six different "advisors", who all denied any knowledge of the offer....finally got through to a chap, who had it sorted within 5 minutes.....so now just pay line rental for another year...o.k. it has gone up to £18:99 a month, but that's better than £28:99....Good luck !!......Jack.

  • I got it down to £17.40 for 18 months, £48 credit and free ADSL. I don't have a calls package.

I have TV (Boxsets) with 60% discount and £50 credit added back in December.

£31.50 a month so there's room for maneuver. It took 2 phone calls & 1 live chat to get the BB/LR sorted.
  • During cooling off period Sky wouldn't let me cancel to take advantage of the MSE offer. I argued and complained by letter and Sky just stonewalled. I got £50 credit in the end. Due to recent price hikes I was able to dump them, citing the issues above. They were totally unapologetic. Now... dumped. Hello Origin Broadband! Good DSL price even better Fibre prices!:)

I was able to jump onboard the MSE Sky offer at £12pm despite signing us with Sky one week before for 17mb service and phone at £17.99 a month - it depends on who you chat too, so might be worth re-connecting with Sky before dumping them as heard many a bad thing about Origin Broadband. By way of example, we pay Sky £20 pm for BB, line rental and anytime calls, we also have £50 Cash Back off this. Moral of tale, before jumping try and work with the ISP for better deal, if no luck, do jump but check out Cash Back sites first as some really good offers crop up monthly.
