Time4sleep

Hi All,
I bought a bed from Time4Sleep in 2016, ordered a standard double and a double mattress from Groupon with the same measurements. When the bed arrived, all seemed fine, I checked the boxes, which all read 'Double Frame', checked the boxes for damage and all was good.
I have been doing painting in the bedroom where the bed is going, so have only just got round to building the bed.
After building the bed and putting the mattress on, I discovered that the mattress didn't fit. Upon looking through my paperwork all the measurements were the same, however, when I got a tape measure out, the bed frame was actually the measurements of a king size.
I contacted Time4sleep who were very slow getting back, however, they have offered to replace the bed as long as I dissemble the bed, package it back up, wait in for the next one to be delivered and obviously then build the new one which I'm not at all happy with, given that I've already wasted time and money doing just that with the wrong sized one.
I'm not happy with their poor customer service (response was rather flippant) and the fact that their mistake has left me without anything to sleep on for weeks and inconvenienced.
Now I have read some really poor reviews online about the company.
Can anyone please tell me where I stand, I'd really appreciate any help or advice you can offer.
Many thanks,

To be fair, you've had plenty of time to discover this error. It's not the supplier's fault you've waited this long to look at the contents.

As far as I am aware, the supplier is acting reasonably in respect of their legal obligations.

I did look at the contents and checked them carefully, however, I didn't take each bit out of the box and measure them. They sent a king size bed in packaging that was labeled 'double bed'.
I had no reason to doubt it was a double?

I don't dispute that. But certain rights also come with time-bound obligations. As you have waited so long to "discover" this issue, from what you have written the supplier appears to be acting reasonably.

If this bed being incorrect means you have been left "without anything to sleep on for weeks and inconvenienced", where have you been sleeping for the past several months?

It's only been three months, I understand what you're saying but don't think I'm unreasonable in expecting it to be the right sized bed. I understand that if it had been damaged on arrival I might have been a bit late in complaining.

I have been doing a house up to move into and have now moved in. I only have one bed at the minute and yes it's the wrong size!
  • It's not unreasonable to expect the right sized bed but the fact is, it isn't. I think after three months, they are being reasonable by offering to replace it :)

You will still have the mattress to sleep on, not ideal but better than nothing.

Sue them for every penny they've got. The emotional distress alone must be worth £50,000.

You will have to pay a court fee upfront but you get that back when you win.

Thanks but I haven't touched the mattress until I know what's going with the bed so not an option for now.

    Many thanks,
You haven't said in your opening post what you want to happen.
