Carphone warehouse/vodafone issues

To cut a long story short my wife and I went to carphone warehouse and renewed our contract with Vodafone. The sims got registered to the wrong phones th assistant spoted the mistake and stop the transaction but unfortunately it was too late for my phone and it had to be returned for a contract reversal of something. Carphone warehouse have acknowledged that it was their mistake and have been trying to sort it out with Vodafone for have been completely useless (including hanging up and lying to the cpw staff on the phone).
My question is as CPW have admitted it was their fault and have said to me that they will sort me out with some free stuff how much should I push it? How much should I ask for? I have been waiting for the phone for nearly 3 weeks now so I think I'm entitled to a fair bit but don't want to push it that hard that I actually annoy them and get less

Work out your actual losses, and that is the minimum you should expect.
If you haven't actually lost out, and still have your old phone and sim/number is working correctly etc, then I'd just take what they offered as you aren't actually any worse off than before you walked into the store.0 -

I'm still waiting for the phone as of now. CPW are blaming vodafone for the delay with the contract reversal. It's quite shocking as I initially went it to the shop on the 11th of Feb.0
