tried persil small and mighty liq nonbio and don't like it at all! Horrible smell.
Used ariel when on hols and noone got a skin reaaction as they did when I tried other powder previously. It was recommended in Which? as best, so I'm using it. I don't use as much as it says on the box either."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Give the machine a run through at the hottest temp with a good handfull of soda crystals in the drum and white vinegar in the draw - this should clean out all the goo - empty the filter and give it a good wash out - don't forget to give the rubber door seal a good clean too.
I always use Lidl's own non bio powder at 30 deg for the majority of my washing and it works great - if I know I've got anything majorly mucky to wash then I chuck in a handfull of soda crystals too.
Hope you get it sorted."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
the filter is usually at the front of the machine, near the bottom - there will be a flap to open or you may have to take the bottom plinth/cover off (as I do) and there's usually a round bit that you can pull out - this is the bit the collects all the fluff and gunk so could be the root of your problem - have a look in your instruction book if you have it still.
hope you get it fixed!!
must clear my filter too...
Dearest dumpy and babychick, you have just saved me at least 80 quid!:A
Was literally, sitting here, waiting for the Washing Machine Service Gods to answer their celestial phone, and idling my way down this thread, when your inspired post hit me (metaphorically) between the eyeballs. What is so shaming is that I knew this all along, :ohave done it before, but in my panic to have everything right for my Aussie cousin when she comes on Sunday, I just didn't think. There was more bilge in that filter than on the top shelf of your newsagent, I can tell you, and the machine is back to her dear old self again.

Definately try running an empty hot wash to flush out the tubes, stick some soda crystals in with it too.
It's true that you do get used to the smell of your liquid, why not try a different smell and see if that makes a difference?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Sorry to hi-jack your thread OP, but if anyone can help me to locate my filter - I'll be your friend for life!!!!
I have a Candy Eclypsa CE104 and can't for the life of me see where my filter is  !
I've tried getting a new manual (*I'm sorry we don't have one for that model*), searching on the internet (for HOURS!) - to no avail.
Is it possible I don't have one?

hi all I have a hotpoint machine which gets a bit goopy in the dtergent draw cos of concentrated softner. what hotpoint recommends that as well as regularly cleaning the draw etc.. at leaast twice a year you should do a 90 degree wash with no laundry in it. not overly envromentally friendly but it does clean the machine! Mine is one of hotpoints new aa grade machines so might be worth a go.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
