British Gas boiler cover

My father in law has taken out BG home care 4 at £19.50 per month. His boiler (over 10 years old unserviced for a number of years) broke don & he called them. The engineer fixed the fault with a replacement part at an extrotionate price & then sold him this cover. My FIL says he has been told all repairs, parts & labour are now covered & he need not pay any more than the monthly fee.
I'm in a different county & as he hasn't received his contract & T&C, I looked at their website. For his level of cover, they give the boiler a service, tell him how much any repairs will cost him & in the future he will have an excess to pay on any furture repairs. But I see they also don't cover a boiler the age of his.
So does anyone have this level of cover who could confirm he will have other costs to pay, & can I cancel this cover for him as he has clearly been miss sold
the product.

He will pay for repairs. Also it is very probable that almost any fault will be 'due to sludge in the system' and will need a power flush at the cost of several hundred pounds.Excess amount payable (See page 28 of the Terms and Conditions)
You can choose to pay an excess and the amount you agree to pay (as shown on your statement) is payable each
time we complete a repair for you – whether you report it to us, or we find it during a first service or annual service
Still the fitter got his commission.
Details of cancellation are in the terms and conditions - he will have to pay for the repair on his call out.0 -
That's exactly what we thought. He thinks he'll get all the the repairs included in the cost of the contract. Trouble is, I'm not sure by the time we get there, that we'll still be able to cancel. I suppose we could try to appeal to their good nature (lol) & let them know it was miss sold as he didn't understand what he's been sold.0
