Public keep parking in our private car park

Dear all
All these threads concentrate on avoiding paying parking fines, but what about those suffering at the hands of illegal parkers?
We live on a small private estate and the public keep parking in our car park so we can't park there ourselves.
We have hired in a private parking company to put up signs and patrol the car park.
But as you are all advising people to appeal parking fines what chance have we got of successfully using a private parking company?
Thoughts welcome.

I have found that a picture of a calthrop under a wiper blade usually does the trick.

and after removing the odd stray parker the PPC will have no income , apart from you (the residents) getting tickets for all manner of things
I hope you have created a whitelist of cars that can park ,
expect you to repost in a few weeks "I have got "x" tickets from "xxx" what do I do"
and don,t forget , you can no longer have a workman at your house or a pizza delivery , coz they will get tickets0 -
I hope that all the residents and their visitors can park on drives. PPCs tend not to worry about whether you are entitled to be there.0

You don't get fined for parking on private land, you get a speculative invoice. Nobody here will condone non-payment of a fair parking charge, but the private parking industry is unregulated and peoples lives are made a misery by private parking companies that have lied in court, breached the Protection of Freedom Act, install inadequate signage, breached the Equality Act 2010, and use automatic number plate recognition systems that are not fit for purpose just to name but a few of their nasty tactics.
I am worried that once the public have been stopped from parking in your private car park they will target you and the other residents. That's assuming they don't target the residents from day 1. That's what they do. That's how these scammers make their money.
You should look very carefully at the parking contract to see if they can be booted out when (not if) that starts to happen.
I fear you have asked the local fox to mind your hen-house.
In answer to your query, gates or barrier with a lock or keypad/card. Popup bollards for individual spaces.
Signs saying private property yes, but not a private parking company. That way lies madness.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

the OP is probably happy to take a £10 "bonus" for every photo sent
OP , how does a letter thru the post , a month later "actually" stop people parking ?
I do hope you studied the contract carefully , one mistake or !!!! up by the PPC could see YOU in court0 -
Trust me I know - PPC's in Residential Car Parks is not the solution. They will at some point ticket genuine residents and the residents genuine visitors and contractors and when they do you will see what happens. You think now that will be an easy problem to sort out? It won't be. It hasn't been.
For allocated parking bays the best solution is simple - a fold down bollard. That way no one that you don't want to park in your space can ever park in your space.0 -

As said above, chances are very high that you will get a ticket.
It all depends which PPC you have taken on as the vast majority are rogues and will ticket anything that has wheels on.
Any contract you have signed must give you 100% rights to cancel the tickets.
It will only be a matter of time that you could feel the wrath of a motorist .... why ? because the parking companies use unethical means and that gets people very upset
No doubt you have signed a contract which you will be bound by and to void the contract will cost a lot of money.
It does not take long for delivery drivers, workmen, taxis etc etc to black ball the area
I only hope you have not taken on a self ticketing system and earn commission ????0 -

Come back when you and your visitors and neighbours have got PCNs for heinous crimes like ''not knowing that the parking firm have changed the permits from yellow to blue overnight for no reason'' or ''the permit is slightly hidden by the shaded part of your windscreen'' or ''daring to park a courtesy car with a note on it, while your car is in for repair''.
Go on tell us, in the infinite wisdom of whoever took on this PPC, which firm did you choose and what checks did you do about that firm? Do they offer POPLA and are they thug ex-clampers? Do you even know who you are in bed with or did you believe the spiel?
OMG you will need our help later this year, mark my words. Stupid, stupid, stupid idea.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
